Jack Grealish set to agree Gucci deal unprecedented in sporting world

Jack Grealish signed for Premier League Giants Manchester City at the start of the 2020/21 season for £100 million from his boyhood club Aston Villa, thus making him the most expensive English player in the world.

It has been a great 10-12 months for him as Grealish also helped in taking his national team to the final of Euro 2021 last summer earning a lot of praise from the fans.

His good time continues as the fashion giants Gucci are close to signing him up on a ‘multi-year’ sponsorship deal, according to the Athletic. The 26-year-old signed on a 7-figure ($1.7 million) deal with Gucci to become their ambassador. The deal is considered ‘unprecedented’ in the sporting world.

This isn’t his first soiree in fashion as he has also collaborated with UK fashion brand BoohooMAN last year on several collections. Grealish maintains a fashionable image of himself whenever he’s seen in public.

It is also suggested by David Ornstein of the Athletic that Manchester city had also factored in the commercial aspect and the potential of it when they paid £100 million to Aston Villa for him.

Although this news isn’t directly related to football, a lot of fans have reacted to it, with many labelling him as the ‘modern-day Beckham’.

Jack’s teammate and fellow national team player Kyle Walker has also reacted to this as he was heard calling Grealish “Mr Gucci” loudly during training.

These last 12 months have ensured him a bright and exciting future ahead. Grealish is also expected to be a part of England’s national team heading to Qatar for the World Cup in the winter.
