With FIFA 23’s release now less than two weeks away, certain details about the game are slowly being revealed.
The most anticipated reveals are that involving Player Ratings and how strong the ‘major’ European clubs really are.
While the Premier League and La Liga clubs are generally really strong, the same can’t really be said about Serie A anymore.

The last time an Italian team won the Champions League was over a decade ago and the top Serie A sides can’t seem to match up to the other European giants.
As a result, the Serie A players don’t really rank about the highest rated in the game.
In fact, not a single player from the league has even made the top-20 players in FIFA 23.

While many fans felt like the best-ranked Serie A player would be a prolific goal scorer like Romelu Lukaku, Rafael Leao or Lautaro Martinez – that certainly isn’t the case in FIFA 23.
It’s actually a goalkeeper.
But it isn’t who the majority might be predicted.
The general consensus thinking is that Inter Milan goalkeeper Samir Handanovic is the best goalkeeper in the league.
The 38-year-old has, after all, kept 201 clean sheets in 558 Serie A appearances.
But the highest-rated goalkeeper in FIFA 23 is AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan.

He is the second no.1 to be a league’s top star after Bayern Munich captain Manuel Neuer.
Maignan has an overall rating of 87 – putting him in no.31 in terms of the best-rated players in the game.
The French goalkeeper has been given some impressive attributes, which include 89 reflexes, 85 diving and 85 positioning skills.
This is after the 27-year-old enjoyed a dream debut campaign for the Rossoneri last season, helping them win their first Serie A title after a decade.
Maignan kept 17 clean sheets in 32 league games, winning the Golden Glove award and also maintaining the best defensive record for only conceding 21 goals at that.
Maignan has been given a better rating than many well-known Serie A stars.
He’s rated higher than the likes of Lukaku, Martinez, Paulo Dybala, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Ciro Immobile – all with an 86 rating.
Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has an 86 rating as well.
At the age of 27 – a relatively young one for a goalkeeper – Maignan is guaranteed to be a popular FIFA Career mode option with this high rating.
