The hidden meaning behind unique ‘signing celebration’ from Martinelli, Gabriel and Jorginho

The hidden meaning behind unique ‘signing celebration’ from Martinelli, Gabriel and Jorginho

Gabriel Martinelli has been one of the most exciting players to watch in the Premier League this season. Fortunately for Arsenal, he has found his footing under Mikel Arteta and is now firing on all cylinders to fuel their title charge against Manchester City.

The Brazilian winger has already solidified his future with Arsenal by signing a new long-term contract with the club last month.

Martinelli is now tied to the club until at least 2027 and will hope to make that left-wing role his own for years to come.

Martinelli did get a considerable increase in his wages with the new deal but did not hesitate or take too much time in agreeing to it. He clearly loves being a part of Arsenal and is focused on bringing back the glory days to the Emirates Stadium.

The 23-year-old has been a driving force in their Premier League title charge this season and is their joint-top scorer in the league – with 11 goals scored so far.

That included a brilliant brace he scored in Arsenal’s 4-0 thrashing of Everton on Wednesday – which helped them move five points clear of second-place Manchester City at the top of the table.

Arsenal fans are loving his form and the winger for signing a new long-term deal recently and solidifying his future at the club.

Having seen some key players reject deals and then force their way out of Arsenal in the past, it’s not surprising that the London giants’ fans would breathe a sigh of relief to see Martinelli willing to enjoy his peak years with them rather than join some other major club.

Martinelli’s celebration with Brazilian Gooners explained

Martinelli lined up with his fellow Brazilians Gabriel Magalhaes and Jorginho (who is Brazilian by origin but plays for Italy) to produce a special celebration after scoring against Everton.

The trio all looked at the camera and did a little bit of a ‘signature’ gesture. Here are 3 possible hidden meanings behind the celebration

1 – Celebrating Martinelli signing the deal

This is yet another example of the kind of unity and family-like environment which Arteta has been able to install into the squad over the last few years.

Martinelli is quite clearly a widely beloved figure among the Arsenal players and seems to be getting on really well with Gabriel as well as Jorginho – who only joined the club in January. But Arsenal fans clearly aren’t satisfied with just the Brazilian winger penning a new contract with the club

2 – All 3 celebrating their own deals

Another possible theory that fans believed could signify this unique celebration is for all three to celebrate the prospect of signing their own deals.

Jorginho only joined Arsenal in January, where he agreed to a short-term 18-month contract with them. Magalhaes also penned an extension with the club back in October of last year and this could be a way for all three to show off their new deals.

3 – Urging Saliba and Saka to sign new deals

While the Gooners are delighted with the positivity around Martinelli’s new deal, they obviously want the entire young core to remain intact for years to come. Some fans also believe this celebration could be a bit of a hint for Bukayo Saka and William Saliba to sign their own new deals!

Saka is reportedly on the verge of agreeing on a new long-term contract to stay at his beloved club after falling in love with his position at the club.

Saliba is also negotiating a new deal, with fans urging him to quickly finalize an agreement and go on to play for them for many years to come.

As long as there is a flow of positivity within the club, the belief within the Arsenal club to win big trophies will only keep increasing.

They do not look vulnerable anymore and seem eager to break their two-decade-long Premier League title drought in May – with young superstars like Martinelli leading from the front.
