Donna Cullen Causes a Stir with Candid Reaction to Spurs vs Man Utd Game

Tottenham Hotspur have had a proper meltdown over the last few months. Their troubles started brewing at the start of 2023, with Antonio Conte showing signs of dismay towards the club’s deteriorating form.

He ended up being fired in March itself after a fiery outburst at the weak mentality of the players and poor management from the owners. The Italian was replaced by his no.2, Cristian Stellini – who got the boot after just being in charge for four games.

Now it’s upon the young Ryan Mason, a former Spurs player himself, to steer the ship until the end of the season – as chairman, Daniel Levy continues his search for the perfect manager as Conte’s long-term successor. Despite major ambitions for the future, the present is not serving kindly for Spurs.

They’re suffering embarrassing losses and struggling for wins, be it at home or in away games. The Lilywhites did, although, show some fight in their 2-2 draw against Manchester United at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on April 27. They managed to come back from going 2-0 down to salvage a point, adding a tiny glimpse of hope within the disgruntled fan base.

Before half-time, however, things got really, really dismal. At one point, some Spurs fans threw black balloons with ‘Enic Out’ etched onto them onto the pitch as a mark of protest against the ownership. After the second goal, it appeared that one of the management people themselves are disgruntled with the current situation.

Immediately after Marcus Rashford doubled United’s lead in the game, the cameras panned to chairman Levy – who was seated in the VIP owner’s box with a stone-wall expression on his face. However, the camera also managed to catch the reaction of Spurs’ executive director Donna-Maria Cullen in the background.

Cullen has been working as part of the Spurs’ higher-ups for over a decade and is more involved in looking into their off-the-pitch ventures. She appeared to be frustrated by the state of things for Spurs and fans think that the camera caught her mouthing ‘this is s***’ to someone beside her.

That was probably ideal to sum up the situation of the players and the performance up until that point, with the Lilywhites showing little fight and buckling under pressure. However, fans are hardly sympathizing with Cullen in this situation and have actually lashed out at her for being responsible for the mess that the club is in right now.

A lot of Spurs fans are holding her accountable for the poor management that the club has suffered from in the last decade, resulting in them going trophyless. Cullen reportedly had some issues with Mauricio Pochettino during his time as Spurs manager and some fans have blamed her for playing a potential role in the club not trying to re-sign the gaffer to replace Conte.

Despite the decent result against the Red Devils, the Spurs fans are still united over their stance against the ownership. As was visible during the recent home game, where LevyOut banners were on display, the Spurs faithful are sick and tired of the current regime and are desperate to see Levy, Cullen and the entire upper-management team replaced to bring any real progress for the club.
