Look: Wet Leg’s Rhian Teasdale Scores Big by Rocking 23/24 Arsenal Home Kit on Stage

Indie rock duo Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers have enjoyed an astronomical rise to fame ever since the Isle of Wight’s Wet Leg released two singles in 2021, Chaise Longue and Wet Dream.

Rhian and Hester held down their nine-to-five jobs and started the band with the hope of getting a few gigs. Just a few years down the line, they are amongst UK’s hottest bands, touring the country and adding new fans with every performance.

And now their latest show in London might end up helping them get more exposure than they’ve ever managed from any past single gig.

Rhian Teasdale wins over Arsenal crowd

Over the weekend, Teasdale expertly played to the crowd at Finsbury Park in North London, as she took her already brilliant performance onto the next level by representing Arsenal colours on stage.

The Arsenal kit not only made Wet Leg a hit in the concert but also attracted attention from the club’s social media fan base, who believe they’ve now found another famous ‘Gooner’ – a derived term for the supporters of the club nicknamed the Gunners.

One fan on Twitter noted: “Wet Leg are so bloody good. Infectious and genuine friendship and nothing wins over a Finsbury Park crowd more than playing in a Gunners shirt.”

The 30-year-old singer was wearing Arsenal’s 23-24 home kit with Adidas‘ golden stripes and logos inspired by the 2005-06 Highbury home kit.

Incidentally, Finsbury Park is less than a mile away from Highbury – Arsenal’s former chomping ground. As such the sight of their iconic shirt would’ve certainly made the day of the locals.

Though, as far as Rhian’s football loyalties are concerned, Liverpool or Everton fans might make a good case about one half of the Wet Leg band being a fan of their respective club.

It turns out Rhian was born in Formby, Merseyside, and moved to the Isle of Wight when she was eight years old. As such, it won’t be too far-fetched to assume she might have a soft spot for either Everton or Liverpool.

Regardless, Arsenal fans won’t be too bothered should it be confirmed Rhian supports one of the two clubs from Merseyside as long as she continues to wear an Arsenal top when in Finsbury Park.

Further, she’s not the only musician who was recently seen flaunting the Arsenal colours.

Early last season, Canadian rapper Drake was seen trying his luck on the roulette table and sporting a Thierry Henry’s Arsenal shit from the 2005/06 campaign. That was not it though. As per SportBible, around the same time, the multi-platinum-selling artist also placed a bet on Arsenal beating Leeds United. Mikel Arteta’s men did just that, extending their lead at the top of the league table with a 1-0 win. However, let’s just hope he didn’t put down any money on the Gunners winning the 2022/23 title.

One way or another, the red side of North London continues to attract the attention of the world’s most famous names!
