The Twitterati has gone berserk after images of France’s World Cup star Kylian Mbappe and American media personality Kim Kardashian partying together were splashed all over social media.
Mbappe, the Paris Saint-Germain star and Kardashian were spotted together along with many celebrities at a luxury party hosted by US billionaire Michael Rubin at Bridgehampton, one of the most centrally located areas of the Hamptons.
Mbappe’s presence at the party created a lot of flutter among his huge fan base across the world.
With his future at Ligue 1 champions still uncertain, fans fear this is not the right time to party.
“Wouldn’t be surprised to see Mbappe’s decline soon enough. Once you start partying, that’s what happens. Could never be as good as Messi,” tweeted one fan.
The guest list at the Hamptons included the crème de la crème of the fashion world as well as actors, singers and a galaxy of celebrities from all walks of life.
The glitterati which included US footballers Tom Braddy also had the likes of Justin Bieber, Ben Affleck, Emily Ratajkowski, Jay-Z, Hailey Bieber, Winnie Harlow, Jennifer Lopez, Travis Scott, Kelly Rowland, Jack Harlow, Dixie D’Amelio, Jonathan Cheban, Corey Gamble, Kim Kardashian, Lori Harvey, Justine Skye, and Kendall Jenner.
The Fourth July White Party hosted by Rubin, the founder and CEO of Fanatics has become more of a traditional feature now, but fans gave vent to their feelings because of the presence of Mbappe with Kardashian, who was wearing an opaque two-piece Alaia outfit.
“aaaaaaaaaah there goes his football form. This lady causes problems for athletes,” read another tweet.
With Mbappe still rumoured to join Real Madrid once his contract in Paris ends, there were some who see it as a harbinger of things to come.
“Now we know why the man chasing two cheques from PSG & Madrid,” tweeted another.
It looked as though, the Twitterati, in general, did not like the presence of Kardashian, whom they feel has this uncanny habit of jinxing people.
“mbappe might never see silverware for the rest of his career,” read a tweet while some others called it embarrassing.
However, there were some neutral fans who found nothing objectionable in Mbappe partying with the media figure.
“he’s the richest man there lol football (soccer) players earn the most on avg than any athlete,” a tweet said.
Another fan was more diplomatic, as he saw the finer aspects of the picture saying, there is no reason to go overboard over it with this cryptic tweet.
“Literally just a candid pic of two people stood next to each other.”
Mbappe, who helped PSG win a record 11th Ligue title has remained coy about his future at Park des Princes, though rumour mill is strong about a switch to La Liga giants Real Madrid.
However, there were some netizens who saw the funny side of the party.
“Agent Kim convincing Mbappe about Arsenal,” read one tweet, while another one was more sarcastic as it said “She’s 20 years older than him.”.
“Run Mbappe RUN” was another tweet as some other fans joined the fun.
