How Much Money Did Erling Haaland Get For Winning MOTM Against Yokohama Marinos?

In a thrilling pre-season opener against Yokohama F. Marinos in Tokyo, Manchester City’s treble-winning hero, Erling Haaland, stole the spotlight by scoring two goals, leading his team to a remarkable 5-3 victory.

Erling Haaland was rightfully named Man of the Match as a result of his exceptional performance and was presented with a financial reward by the hosts – a cheque worth ¥1,000,000 in Japanese Yen, equivalent to £5505 ($7063).

The contrast between the MOTM reward and Haaland’s astronomical salary quickly caught the attention of fans and media alike.

Twitter users summed up the situation by stating that it would take Haaland, who is on £850K a week, a mere two hours to amass the amount handed over by the hosts in Japan.

As the Norwegian ace looks forward to the upcoming season, his goal is to surpass his incredible debut season record, where he scored a staggering 52 goals across 53 games, including a Premier League record-breaking 36 goals.

Pep Guardiola, the mastermind behind Manchester City’s success, praised Haaland’s fitness and improvement since joining the club, setting high expectations for the striker’s performance in the upcoming campaign.

Silly Season provided a breakdown of his staggering earnings of the Manchester City talent, revealing a financial reality that surpasses the imaginations of most people.

To put it in perspective, Haaland earns a whopping £40 ($51) per minute, and an eye-popping £2397 ($3075) per hour.

His daily earnings amount to an astonishing £57,534 ($73,824), and in just one week, he takes home an incredible £370,462 ($475,358). On a monthly basis, the figure climbs to £1,753,333 ($2,249,789), and annually, his earnings reach an astronomical £21 million ($27 million).

Considering the MOTM reward of £5505 ($7063) he received in Japan, it becomes evident that the cheque was indeed a symbolic gesture rather than a significant financial boost for the young striker.

As Manchester City continues its preseason preparations, with matches against Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid on the horizon, fans can only wait in anticipation to witness more magic from Erling Haaland.
