Was Jadon Sancho’s Chill Session with Hip-Hop Royalty A Bold Response to Erik Ten Hag?

Jadon Sancho has found himself in hot water at Manchester United after engaging in a war of words with manager Erik ten Hag and some fans have been displeased with proof of him partying in the USA amid all this drama.

The Englishman has not had a good start to the 2023/24 season at all, being unable to start a single Premier League game and mostly being used as a substitute. To make things worse, Ten Hag completely removed him from the matchday squad for their recent match against Arsenal before the international break.

The Dutch gaffer revealed after the game that the reason behind him dropping Sancho was not due to injury, but because the winger was not performing to the necessary standards in training. The 23-year-old appeared to be deeply offended by this and shocked fans by posting a full-blown statement on his social media.

In the statement, he seemed to indicate that Ten Hag was lying about his below-part training performances and that he was performing to the best possible ability in every session. In doing so, he turned a lot of fans against him, with many infuriated over how he called out the manager in public rather than voice his grievances to him in private.

Fans fume at Jadon Sancho for partying amid tensions with Erik ten Hag

The Red Devils reportedly tried to punish him by selling Sancho to a Saudi Arabia club before their transfer window ended (on September 7) but the Englishman flat out rejected that. However, it appears that some tensions might have eased between the winger and the United manager – with Jadon opting to delete his tweet criticizing Ten Hag.

Amid all this drama, a picture of Sancho has caught the attention of a lot of fans where he could be seen among the attendees at the birthday of NBA star John Wall. The party, which was filled with high-profile celebrities and rappers, was held in the USA and it’s clear that Sancho flew out there to be involved in it.

This has immediately gotten the fans to turn on the Englishman, slamming him for not being serious enough in getting back to his best and gain the confidence of Erik ten Hag. However, there is a key part of this party that many might not be aware of.

Did Sancho really do anything wrong by travelling for John Wall’s party?

John Wall’s birthday was on 6 September, which means that the birthday party also happened well after his beef with Ten Hag kick-started on 3 September. Sancho was not selected by England to be part of their games during the international break, so he probably decided to take a short break to travel to the USA for his buddy’s party.

Considering that the players who were not involved in any fixtures were allowed to spend time with their families during the first week of the international break, Sancho didn’t exactly break any rule or cause an act of defiance in jetting out to the USA for a little trip during that period.

Sancho will, however, need to work hard to regain the faith of the Manchester United manager, players and fans after his shocking actions from earlier this month. For that, however, he’ll need to cut down on the partying lifestyle and focus on devoting himself to the training ground to prove his ability to be a success story at Old Trafford.
