Look: Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold Get Competitive Over Goodmorning Handshake

Mohamed Salah’s chemistry with Trent Alexander-Arnold has made Liverpool’s right-wing a terrorizing force in recent years. The two know the ins and outs of each other’s game, allowing them to torment opponents at will.

Not only are they best mates on the pitch, but the two seem very bonded outside it too. The duo have known each other for many years now and seem to be on great terms. They also love bantering each other, which was evident in a recently released clip of their routine morning ‘handshake’.

In a short video of the two interacting in the Melwood training facility, they approach each other for a handshake. However, Trent refuses to let go of Salah’s hand and the winger pulls him onto himself. They ensue in a few tugs and can be heard smack-talking each other.

Ultimately, it appears that Alexander-Arnold comes out of this ‘tug of war’ as the winner. But this entire interaction is just playful banter and nothing else. There is no animosity or jealously at all among these two players. This lovable little banter shows the high spirits in the Liverpool dressing room right now.

Fans were immediately to compare this handshake tugging among Salah and Trent to the infamous duel that happened between Antonio Conte and Thomas Tuchel last season. The ex-Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur bosses almost came to blows after a fiery 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge in August 2022.

Some even compared it to ‘The Office’ where the characters Jim and Dwight have a handshake tug. The background music playing in the clip has also amused fans, who believe that the Arabic-sounding tune must’ve been selected by Salah.

More than everything else, fans love how happy the Liverpool dressing room looks like right now. Salah and Trent both seem to be high on confidence and love combining on and off the pitch to delight the supporters.
