Debunking the Myth Thomas Partey Would Get Arrested if He Ever Goes to Spain

Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has struggled with injury issues plaguing him once again at the start of the 2023/24 season. The Ghana midfielder actually impressed for Arsenal in the first few matches, even shining as a right-back, before injuries started to hold him back.

Partey is not expected to play any games for the Gunners in 2023 after undergoing surgery on a groin problem. Now, he is continuously being linked to a move away from the Emirates Stadium and Juventus are reportedly interested in signing him in January.

Amid the uncertainty over his future, Partey at least seems to be calm and enjoying his time away from the beautiful game.

During the ongoing November international break, he took some time to shut up those cooking up a conspiracy theory about him not being able to make a trip to Spain.

The Ghana midfielder recently posted a picture of himself at the Plaza de Canalejas in Madrid, Spain.

His IG Story seemingly dispelled the rumours that he can’t travel to Spain due to some damning allegations laid against him last year. In July 2022, Partey’s world was rocked when an unnamed woman accused him of rape in Ibiza, Spain.

Despite the woman posting a string of evidence on social media, there was no investigation or police case started against Partey. That was because the midfielder had flown back to England during that period and the Spanish authorities allegedly couldn’t question him as a result.

Arsenal took no action against him because they did not find these allegations to have any weight to them, with Partey playing regularly for Mikel Arteta’s side even after these revelations.

But some started to fly around this rumour that Partey can never step back into Spain or face the threat of being arrested or detained due to the past allegations.

This was further intensified earlier this season, when Partey picked up an injury set-back just before Arsenal’s away game against Sevilla in the UEFA Champions League.

Some felt that he purposefully got injured just to avoid the trip to Spain and the threat of being questioned on the accusations against him. Well, Partey has definitely been able to squash those baseless claims by literally posting himself strolling around freely with Madrid without any pressure on him.

The Ghana midfielder has a lot of past ties to Spain, having gotten his breakthrough at La Liga heavyweights Atletico Madrid before his move to Arsenal.

Partey is actually also a co-owner of Alcobendas Sport, a third-division Spanish side after acquiring a stake in it alongside three more people.

He also owns his own house in Madrid, which was also broken into and robbed by burglars back in 2019. Partey has made it clear that he tends to travel in and out of Spain occasionally for some stuff and faces absolutely zero threat of being arrested or detained by the police for his past allegations.
