What is ‘Hawk Tchoua’? Explaining the slander name of Aurelien Tchouameni from viral meme Aurelien Tchouameni becomes ‘Hawk Tuah’ girl’s latest victim with slanderous nickname
Is your social media feed filled with the ‘Hawk Tuah’ girl meme? In that case, get ready for more and brace yourself for ‘Hawk Tchoua’, the slander name bestowed upon Aurelien Tchouameni.
Since the ‘Hawk Tuah’ girl went viral, someone came up with the name for the Real Madrid star. For those who are out of touch with the meme game on the internet, here’s a context.
The ‘Hawk Tuah’ girl Hailey Welch went viral recently after her chance appearance in the man-on-the-street interview by creators Tim & Dee TV. In the video she was asked, ‘What’s one move in bed that makes a man go crazy every time?’
‘You gotta give ’em that ‘hawk tuah’ and spit on that thang,’ Hailey answered in her southern accent and that blew up the internet. If you’ve seen the video, then you already know what the ‘Hawk Tuah’ actually is. It is the supposed sound of someone conjuring a spit. Something this primitive and simple spread like wildfire amongst the netizens and football fans did not keep them on the sidelines as well.
To keep up with the trend, footy lovers pulled out all the stock and someone finally came up with the name ‘Hawk Tchoua’ for Tchouameni.
An X user by the name of ‘Ewan’ with the ID @DontSayMillitant was the mastermind behind the name.
The user apparently has made a name for himself with numerous such slander names of players and managers alike. Here are some of the examples:
Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai is Dominik Szodomy.
Chelsea defender Axel Disasi is Axel DiaAsznee.
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is Erik NetenYahu.
And you already know the Tchouameni’s variant.
But why suddenly a slander name for the Frenchman? To put it into perspective, the recent Spain vs France semifinal in the Euro 24 is the starting point. The French team looked far from their best throughout the tournament and Tchouameni was one of the many going through underwhelming form.
Throughout the tournament, Tchouameni was not only unable to open his account but hit first and only shot on target, out of his 12 shots in the Euro 24 in the match against Spain. Tchouameni succeeded in passing 352 times with a 93.9% success rate while maintaining an accuracy of 78.1% in long passes. He created 6 chances but had no luck with an assist.
Against Spain, Tchouameni had no answers to Rodri and the Spanish midfielders in that encounter. His 48 touches on the ball easily got outshined by Rodri’s 67 and Fabian Ruiz’s 78. One the defensive end, he wasn’t all action either. He only won 3 out 6 ground duels and was dribbled past 2 times, once by Dani Olmo.
But this was not the first time Tchouameni had a slanderous name. While this is much more of a derogatory one, he had one given to him by Real Madrid supporters out of love. His partnership in the Los Blancos midfield alongside fellow Frenchman Eduardo Camavinga is the stuff of dreams for Madrid faithful. So the name ‘Chouavinga’ was put forth as a name to label them with, similar to what Manchester United had in ‘McFred’ consisting of Scott McTominay and Fred.
Now that the name has stuck to him, Hawk Tchoua… pardon Tchouameni can expect it to follow him for some time to come.
