I Got Caught in 4K – Newcastle Forward Alexander Isak Reveals Origin Of ‘Dogwalking’ Memes

Alexander Isak, Football Memes, Newcastle United

Alexander Isak has earned the reputation of being one of the most lethal forwards in world football with his heroics for Newcastle United this season. The Swedish striker has taken the Premier League by storm, adding more ruthlessness to the Magpies’ frontline.

Isak might be this clinical forward on the pitch, who has scored 17 goals in 22 Premier League games this season, but he’s a discreet person in real life. The 24-year-old is not in any known relationships and likes to keep things private outside the pitch. He does, however, loves walking his dog around Tyneside.

The Swedish striker has often been pictured walking his Doberman around the streets of Newcastle in recent years. What is even more impressive is he’s been pictured walking his dog around wearing Newcastle’s training gear. This indicates he is dedicated enough to walk his dog around even after coming home tired after exhaustive training sessions.

Photos of Isak walking his dog have often created the perfect template for some funny memes. Newcastle United supporters loved inserting the club logo of a team Isak had scored against to the Doberman’s face. This indicated that the clubs were his ‘dogs’ which he kept under his control.

There was even a meme of Isak ‘dog walking’ Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane after tormenting them in Newcastle’s 2-0 win over Manchester United in the Premier League in April, 2023.

Well, the Swedish forward was directly asked about the memes in an interview with Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer. During the BBC interview, the Englishman questioned Isak on if he’s ever seen his dog-walking memes on the internet.

Isak acknowledged doing so and had a pretty graceful answer to it, stating: “Yeah, I got caught in 4K a few years ago with my dog and it became a bit of a funny meme. So yeah, I was well appreciated. It was a bit of a laugh, yeah, funny things.”

Even though there are pictures of Isak walking around with many Doberman with different club logos replacing their faces, he only has one pet which he likes walking around the streets. The use of photoshop has created the impression that he’s a real dog fanatic with many pets, but he actually only has one beloved dog.

The Swedish striker earned some praise from the Newcastle legend for his off-the-pitch bheavior, with Shearer claiming: “He lives a quiet life, and doesn’t really like going out. He just loves walking his dog, which must be magnificent for his manager Eddie Howe, especially when you hear of some stories of what my old Newcastle team-mates got up to.” Isak clearly comes off as a very unproblematic character who is only driven on succeeding on the pitch.

In his time away from football, he appears to be more reserved and someone who likes spending most of his free time with his dog – be it in his home or walking him around the streets of Newcastle to provide more meme templates for the fans.
