Securing Doue: Liverpool’s Appeal Against PSG’s Power

Desire Doue, Liverpool

PSG’s teenage star, Desire Doué, stole the limelight in the thrashing of Lille, scoring a goal and assisting in a match-winning display.

The 18-year-old midfielder is once again proving to be a revelation, displaying the kind of flair, technical skill, and maturity that has made him one of the most promising talents in Ligue 1.

His display has only fuelled a current hot topic: should Liverpool make a bid for him?

Well, social media fans were quick to propose that Doué would be a perfect signing at Anfield.

Doué has been flying under the radar as he continues to build his profile as France’s best young midfielder.

He can beat defenders with ease, thread passes into areas, and chip in with goals. That is an ideal profile for Liverpool’s rebuild of their midfield.

In Arne Slot’s reign, the club will be considering long-term investments, and Doué fits a lot of criteria.

Liverpool’s recent transfer policy has involved targeting young, high-talent players who can mature into world-class players.

Players like Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister have fit in nicely, but bringing someone like Doué in would add another creative flair—something the Reds could use more of in the final third.

Still, prying him from PSG will not come cheap.

The French club is renowned for bringing through talent and demanding a hefty price when the big clubs bid. But if Liverpool is due to be active in the summer window, then a transfer for Doué cannot be ruled out.

For the moment, the young lad is doing just what he must—speaking with his football. If he continues to turn in performances like last night, it will be only a matter of time before the major clubs, such as Liverpool, start knocking on the door.
