The Per Week Salary Bump Awaiting Malick Thiaw At Newcastle

AC Milan, Malick Thiaw, Newcastle United

The English team Newcastle United, thanks to the Arabs’ acquisition of the team back in 2021, has recently begun to win trophies and has a roster that has caused problems for many other teams in the English Premier League. And it’s more than obvious that this isn’t the end. No, their roster will improve in the coming years to such an extent that there’s a chance they’ll become the team with the best roster of all time. It’s totally a possibility. Already, several members of “The Magpies” are among the league’s best.

It was largely thanks to this that they were able to win the EFL Cup in 2025 against Liverpool FC—their first trophy in 56 years. Liverpool FC is considered by many to be the best team in England right now, so defeating them in a final is not an easy task, to be honest.

Right now, Newcastle United have players like Anthony Gordon, Jacob Murphy, Sven Botman, Bruno Guimaraes, Alexander Isak, Joelinton, Sandro Tonali, and Kieran Trippier, who are among the Premier League’s most outstanding players in their respective positions. And according to numerous sports reports, another defender will soon join the team from AC Milan in Italy. His name is Malick Thiaw, a 24-year-old German who is capable of playing as a central defender, right back, and also as a defensive midfielder.

Malcik Thiaw is a modern centerback who combies aerial dominance, elite distributing, and security. His potential is incredible. The German defender is already finalizing the final touches to be officially presented as the new defender for “The Magpies.” His total transfer fee is said to be around 40 million euros.

The other issue that has been reported is what the defender currently earns with AC Milan and what he is expected to earn with Newcastle United. Currently, Thiaw earns between €800,000 and €1 million annually, while his weekly salary is around €19,800. This amount has not changed since his arrival at the Italian team in 2022, as per Capology.

It’s obvious that the German is seeking a higher annual salary with his move to the English club, which will consequently increase his weekly wage.

Being a serious contender for a first team spot, Thiaw is expected to earn around €4 million when he moves to Newcastle United, which would make his weekly salary between €76,000 and €77,000.

Newcastle are paying their new signings handsomely with both Ramsdale and Elanga earning an average of €116,000 weekly salary.

Newcastle United have had a very complicated transfer window when it comes to signing their desired targets, as has been the case with players such as Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko, with the two of them signing for Manchester United. There is also the running transfer saga with their star striker, Alexander Isak. Therefore, signing Thiaw is a step in the right direction to quell that frustration.
