Estevao Struggles With London Winter And It’s Not Even December Yet

Brazil National Football Team, Chelsea, Estevao, Tottenham Hotspur

Estevao, Chelsea’s most exciting young talent, has been a revelation since he debuted for the English club this season.

He was already wowing crowds at Palmeiras and reminding fans of Santos Neymar before his €57 million transfer to Chelsea.

Since completing his move, he has started the season on fire, scoring 4 goals and producing one assist in 16 appearances. His consistent performances have made him a regular fixture in the Brazilian National Team.

Estevao doesn’t seem to be the biggest fan of the cold English weather

However, it seems like he hasn’t acclimated to the English weather properly, as he has been seen having trouble with the cold.

This was evident during Brazil’s latest training session as Estevao was struggling to deal with the windy conditions.

In an all-London affair, Chelsea’s Estevao was training with Brazilian teammates at the Emirates Stadium, where London-based club Arsenal plays.

And as he was trying to warm himself up, another London rival club’s Richarlison stepped in and started annoying his Brazilian teammate, stopping him from covering himself up and forcing him to face the chilly wind head-on.

This is Estevao’s first experience with the UK winter, so it can be understood why the 18-year-old was feeling the chills in the extremely windy training session, especially with the wind blowing in his face.

Interestingly, speaking English isn’t the only thing troubling him, as he has already complained about the cold weather in the country.

Chelsea manager Maresca has also done his best to gradually bed in Estevao into the first team. Last week, he was asked whether the tricky forward is ready to start back-to-back games, to which the manager joked that he’s still getting used to the British weather.

When asked to elaborate on Estevao’s struggles with the weather and he said:

Last week he was complaining about it being cold. Last week was still October. Imagine December, January! I say ‘it’s still hot’. He has to adapt. He’s happy. He’s doing fantastic. For sure he’s a talented player for this club.

Estevao is still a teenager getting to grips with the fast and furious Premier League. In his short time at the club, he has made sure to excite the crowds with his pace and trickery in every performance.

Once he conquers the English language and his dislike for the cold English weather, the sky is the limit for the wonderkid.

The friendly banter with Richarlison showed that the morale in the Brazilian National Team remains friendly and upbeat as they’re set to face Senegal in a friendly on November 15th.

With just a couple of international breaks left to make their case for the World Cup squad, both Estevao and Richarlison will be looking to impress and cement their place in the Brazilian National Team for the 2026 World Cup.
