Adidas Bring Bold Twist To 2026 Italy Home Kit Shorts

Adidas, Football Kits, Italy National Football Team

Adidas recently released their official home kits for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup with countries like Argentina, Spain, Germany, Italy, etc. all getting a fresh new look ahead of the biggest footballing event next year.

All kits are built to perform at the highest level, featuring body-mapped, 3D-engineered construction and Adidas’ CLIMACOOL+ fabric that fits like a second skin.

Every element of the shirt is intentional, from the mesh ventilation holes to each panel and stripe.

Teams such as Argentina and Germany get subtle nods to their iconic triumphs, with design elements recalling Argentina’s 1978, 1986 and 2022 victories, and Germany’s memorable runs in 1990 and 2014.

Adidas released 22 new kits for the 2026 World Cup

Italy shares the same ideology for their new designs as Adidas has featured a leaf-like theme which runs on the entire kit forming a striped pattern.

The main focus however, remains the gold coloured highlights featured on the signature Adidas stripes on the shoulders, the Adidas logo and the players’ numbers.

The gold logos make a return for the first time since 2006, marking the 20th anniversary of The Azzurri’s last triumph.

While the shirt, with all its patterns, has the potential to be an all-time classic, the similar design transcends to the bottom half of the set.

The white shorts for the Italian national team features the same Adidas stripes and logo in an eye-catching gold theme.

However, unlike common football shorts, whose front feature the team logo on one side and the kit manufacturer logo on the other, the new Azzurri shorts has the FIGC (Italy Football Federation) logo on one side with the player number on other.

Quite surprisingly, the Adidas logo takes a back seat on the shorts.

This newly introduced theme brings back a pattern from some of the kits from the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

All of Adidas’ newly released kits were seen in action as European teams concluded their qualification matches for the upcoming World Cup.

Before becoming Erling Haaland and Norway’s latest victims, Gennaro Gattuso’s men were first in action against Moldova where they recorded a 2-0 victory, the first in their new fabrics.

Fans online quickly took notice of the distinct design on the shorts –

look how clean that number is standing on its own not fighting against a crest or manufacturer logo

This freshly design combination of the Italy shirt and shorts goes really well together.

It accentuates the special occasion for the Azzurris as they celebrate 20 years of their triumph of 2006 in Germany.

What could truly elevate this jersey to another level is the addition of the World Champions 2026’ crest, a distinction Italy would earn if they go all the way next summer.
