It is the most wonderful time of the year, in more ways than one. Winters are here, the festive season is on the horizon, and the year is about to end. December is also a special time for music lovers as Spotify Wrapped gets released.
Created in 2015, Spotify Wrapped gives users a fresh look at their listening habits. After months of discovering new artists and bands as well as revisiting old bangers from the past, Spotify users get to look back on their listening habits throughout the year.
As Spotify Wrapped dropped on December 2nd, everyone ran to the app to check out their stats for the year. The year’s audio recap captured their listening habits from January to mid-November, taking a deep dive into their favorite artists alongside their top songs, artists, genres, and the total amount of minutes spent listening to music on the app.
Spotify Wrapped also lets you post your stats on social media and share them with the world. That is something that most people love doing.
The Spotify Wrapped phenomenon has also gripped the world of football, especially with the music-streaming platform being the main sponsor for Spanish club FC Barcelona.
Barca players like Lamine Yamal, Jules Kounde, Alejandro Balde, etc. showed off their stats for the year, and so did Marcus Rashford.
Rashford is known to be a huge fan of hip-hop and rap music. He has often been spotted at concerts and shows, supporting his favorite hip-hop artists after matches. His love for hip-hop is evident in his Spotify Wrapped for 2025, as his stats heavily feature rap artists and hip-hop songs.
In fact, his top artists were all rappers.

Rashford’s Top Artist was American rapper Lil Baby. At number 2 was another American rapper, Gunna.
American rapper Lil Durk took home the 3rd spot, while the 4th spot went to Canadian rapper Drake. British rapper Potter Payper rounded off the list at 5th, making it an all-rapper affair for Barcelona’s number 14.
Coming to his top songs, Rashford’s most listened-to song was Dum, Dumb, and Dumber by American rappers Lil Baby, Young Thug, and Future from Lil Baby’s album WHAM. His second-most listened to track in 2025 was Proud of Me by Fridayy and Meek Mill.
At 3rd was Listen Up by Lil Baby, while the 4th and 5th positions went to F U 2x by Lil Baby and All the Smoke by Tyla Yaweh featuring Gunna and Wiz Khalifa, respectively.
Rashford’s favorite genre was Trap, and his ‘total minutes listened’ tally for the year came out to be 72,801 minutes. In other words, the Barcelona and England forward spent around 1,213 hours or 50.5 days of the year listening to music.
Rashford’s music taste hasn’t gone down well with the fans, who have criticized the winger for his awful music taste.
Footballers have by far the worst taste of any profession in pretty much everything
That’s such an awful wrapped
how does he have confidence to post that s**t
Not only is modern rap one of the most disliked genres of music, but the fact that Rashford has zero variety on his Spotify Wrapped only makes matters worse. Many fans are in disbelief that someone could listen to such awful music for so long.
72,801 minutes listening to nothing but trash
Footballers really do have awful music taste. They arguably listen to the worst genre of music in 2025. Rap hasn’t been good since 2019.
Moreover, the fact that Spotify Wrapped deemed 28-year-old Rashford’s “listening age” according to his music choices to be 19 doesn’t help his case either. Many fans have been mocking Rashford and calling him out for being an adult, and yet listening to music that a teenager listens to.
Your listening age being a teenager whilst ur a full blown adult is insane
