Liam Delap has not lived up to his expectations upon his arrival at the stamford Bridge.
He was bought for a fee of £30 million from Ipswich Town after an impressive outing in the Premier League last season with 12 goals in 37 games.
But Delap has not been able to replicate the form for chelsea, scoring just a single goal in 13 games, that ended up in a defeat too.
Delap is yet to gain the fans’ backing but has been involved in a petty issue, that has fans questioning his loyalty to Chelsea, let alone his performances.
Delap’s uncovered friendship with Harry Cooksley, a semi-professional footballer and a Love Island contestant has created a problem for Delap.
Harry Cooksley currently plays for the Farnham Town FC, a semi professional football team in the Southern League Premier Division, eighth tier of English football.
But deep down he is an Arsenal fan.
Cooksely turned up to witness the game against Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge for the FA Cup semi finals’ first leg.
Cooksley had uploaded a video on his TikTok about his gameday experience.
In the video, he meets another friend of him, Tyrique Hyde, a content creator and another Love Island participant, who himself had appeared there undercover without revealing his Arsenal fandom.
Following that, he is seen collecting the tickets from the counter, reserved/gifted to him by Liam Delap, for Cooksley and his friend Harrison Solomon, who had represented the U-21 Derby county team.
They run to the stand of home fans, delayed already by Harrison’s unpunctuality, having missed the first goal from Ben White.
He then reveals that they are undercover as Arsenal fans in an end where home fans were massively outnumbering them.
It was a “naughty evening” for them as Arsenal took home a vital away win in the first leg with a score line of 3-2.
A home loss against direct city rivals and then knowing that their own player gifted two tickets to the opposition fans was an unswallowable pill for Chelsea fans, who raged on delap and the standards at which the club is run.
Liam delap leaving tickets for arsenal fans in the chels end tells you everything that’s wrong with the club right now, what the actual fuck man… pic.twitter.com/PN0TG5ssMi

Modern day football in a nut shell. There is no player loyalty towards a club. They dont care about rivalries or fans – its all about the money.

I see people are upset but club at the same time wasted no time shipping out home grown talent for pure profit so it goes 2 ways https://t.co/mgZJCutpzI
But from the player’s point of view, it was beyond rivalry but a sign of friendship.
Harrison Solomon and Delap spent their days together at the Derby academy and regardless of his favourite club, Delap just gave his friend a chance to witness the game live.

Delap giving his friends some match tickets is no big deal.
But offering it in the home end when they are fans of your rivals, is anything but acceptable from the home fans who would expect their player to be more responsible.
The only way he could repay them back and earn their trust is find his old rhythm, particularly in the second leg.
