Marc Guehi’s Middle Name Catches Football World Off Guard

Manchester City, Marc Guehi

Marc Guehi, England’s premium centre back, finally reaches a destination of his standards, joining Man City from Crystal Palace for a fee of £20 million.

He was keenly on the radar of all the big clubs, but the Etihad owners cashed in early before he could be snatched.

But a revelation about his full name has created a new wave of controversy, though he had nothing to do with it.

Marc Guehi, although born in Ivory Coast, has spent his entire life in England. His family moved to London when he was one year old and his father was a minister in a church.

Religious teachings were part of his life since his childhood, until he started playing football.

And it seems religion played a big role when his father named him as well.

Upon his arrival at the club, Manchester City uploaded a video of Marc Guehi getting personal.

For the question, “what is his full name?”, Guehi revealed, Marc-Israel Guehi.

The name Israel stumped a few fans because the country Israel has already made into the negative books of many across the world for its genocidal attacks on Palestine.

Many in the UK are anti-Israel due to the military activities they inflicted on the people of Gaza, expelling them from their home country.

But some of them claimed, that the name Israel was a common occurence in the holy book of Bible.

With Guehi’s father’s association with a Church, its no wonder why he has a name that is familiar in Bible.

Guehi would not mind these pointless takes anyhow, but he is under tremendous expectations to bring his footballing excellence under the lights as goes on the watchlist of the entire world.
