Donnarumma as a Winger? Team Pred vs Team F50 FotMob Mystery Solved

Users on the football live score app FotMob were surprised to see a fixture between two unusual teams: Team Pred vs Team F50, under the heading “Choose One”.

Both are legendary names in Adidas’ boot lineup, with the F50 first released in 2004 and the Predator dating back to 1994. The listing was part of a promotional campaign for Adidas’s latest versions of both boots, launched ahead of the upcoming FIFA World Cup.

Even so, many users were unsure what this series of matches was actually about.

The lineups only added to the confusion. Team Pred was led by Football YouTuber Angry Ginge, while Team F50 was captained by Nico Omilana, the YouTuber best known as part of the Beta Squad.

Incredibly, both teams featured current Premier League stars in the lineup, including Manchester City’s Gianluigi Donnarumma and Antoine Semenyo, Manchester United’s Amad Diallo, Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye, and Liverpool’s Rio Ngumoha.

The squad wasn’t exclusive to men either, with female Premier League stars like Manchester United’s Melvine Malard and Millie Turner, and Arsenal’s Vivianne Miedema also involved.

Alongside content creators like Manny, AJ Shabeel, PieFace, and Shauna Games, the event felt similar to exhibition matches like the Sidemen Charity Match or the recently concluded Match for Hope

Fans of Premier League clubs were confused as to why their players were playing friendlies with important matches coming up.

Others questioned how streamers were scoring goals with Premier League players on the pitch.

However, the reality was different. These were not unsanctioned football matches, but competitive Pro Clubs matches in EA FC 26, the latest football game from EA Sports. The event was live-streamed on Twitch.

Pro Clubs is a game mode where each participant controls a single outfield player rather than the entire team. Teamwork is essential to victory in this format.

Rapper Big Zuu hosted the event alongside football presenter Minaa Simone. Stream watchers were urged to “Choose One”, Predator or F50, through live Twitch polls.

The match started with chaos. Individual mistakes were criticized, teammates blamed each other, and both teams struggled for cohesion.

The dynamics were hilarious with professional footballers playing in unfamiliar positions. Donnarumma, for instance, played as a right winger for Team Pred, while attacker Ngumoha played as Team F50’s left back.

The first match was a tense back-and-forth before Team F50 claimed a 5-3 win despite a red card, thanks to a brace from Iliman Ndiaye.

The second match was highly entertaining, with the teams level at 5-5 at the 77th minute. Donnarumma was sent off for a rash challenge, and Team Pred lost the match 6-5, falling 2 – 0 behind in the series.

The third game ended with Team Pred winning for the first time. In a hilarious post-game interview, their captain, Angryginge, a hardcore Manchester United fan, suggested that the reason for the earlier losses may have been Donnarumma, who didn’t play the final match.

Despite Team F50 winning the first two matches, it was Team Pred who lifted the trophy based on the last-match-wins rule.

With more footballers actively playing EA FC and esports continuing to grow, it seems likely that similar events will become increasingly common as the relationships between professional footballers and content creators deepen.
