Arsenal Ballboy Reacts In Horror As William Saliba Boots His Ball During Wild Celebrations

A young Emirates Stadium ballboy was left visibly furious on Sunday after Arsenal defender William Saliba accidentally launched his carefully placed ball across the touchline during wild celebrations following Jurrien Timber’s match-winning goal against Chelsea.

Timber headed home from Declan Rice’s corner in the 66th minute to restore Arsenal’s lead, sparking jubilant scenes among the Gunners players.

Amid the mayhem, Saliba inadvertently booted the ball that the ballboy had neatly positioned in its holder near the touchline, sending it flying.

The youngster’s reaction of sheer disbelief and fury was captured on camera and quickly went viral on social media.

The victory reopened Arsenal’s five-point lead at the top of the Premier League table, with all three goals coming from corners as the Gunners matched the record of 16 corner goals in a single Premier League season. 

Chelsea’s Pedro Neto was sent off after picking up two yellow cards in the space of three minutes.

The ballboy incident draws inevitable comparisons to last week’s controversy involving Tottenham’s Archie Gray, who was caught on video kicking the ball into the away end toward celebrating Arsenal supporters after Randal Kolo Muani’s equaliser during the North London Derby, a match Spurs ultimately lost 4-1.
