When Hugo Ekitike arrived at Liverpool from Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2025 for a potential £79 million fee, fans quickly discovered there were two sides to the striker.
On top of scoring 10 goals in 23 appearances, Ekitike’s secondary Instagram account became popular among supporters online, allowing him to showcase his off-field personality.
The French forward was doing what has become one of social media’s most popular formats: the Instagram dump.
An Instagram dump is a casual carousel of photos posted together, usually capturing unfiltered moments from a trip, a matchday, or daily life rather than polished single images.
The format has become a staple among younger athletes who prefer showing personality rather than perfectly curated posts.
The trend is not limited to Ekitike. Erling Haaland has also embraced Instagram dumps, frequently posting multi photo carousels that mix matchday moments with travel snapshots and everyday scenes.
Ekitike’s social media style has rubbed off inside the Liverpool dressing room too. Teammates such as Mohamed Salah and Florian Wirtz have both shared their own Instagram dumps in recent months, turning the format into a mini trend among players at the club.

Fans generally expect young footballers to follow social media trends, but few expected referees to join the movement as well.
That changed this week when referee Jamie Robinson posted an Instagram dump from Conference League assignment.
The carousel included several photos taken during a UEFA Conference League assignment and was accompanied by the 2024 dance/electronic track Yosemite by DJs KETTAMA and Interplanetary Criminal.
The images came from the UEFA Europa Conference League match between Mainz 05 and Zrinjski Mostar played in October 2025.
Robinson shared behind the scenes moments from the refereeing trip including stadium scenes and matchday preparation photos.

Fans noticed that the post appeared after a long period of inactivity on Robinson’s Instagram account.
The referee had not been posting regularly and the sudden return with a full Instagram dump made the update stand out even more.
Jamie Robert Robinson is a 31 year old football referee from Belfast, Northern Ireland. He was born on 11 November 1994 and has steadily risen through the refereeing ladder in the past decade.

Robinson began refereeing at just 14 years old and progressed quickly through the Irish football system before reaching the top tier of the Northern Irish Premiership.
His rapid rise continued when he joined UEFA’s Centre of Refereeing Excellence in 2017 and later earned a place on the FIFA international referees list in 2020 at only 25 years old.
Since then he has officiated matches across several competitions including domestic Premiership fixtures in Northern Ireland and UEFA tournaments such as the Europa Conference League and youth international competitions.
Away from the pitch Robinson is also a graduate of Queen’s University Belfast and has been involved in initiatives aimed at improving equipment and resources for match officials.

@nicksta_napo As long as he’s good on the pitch anything else he does off it it’s none of our business
@librarygreenie i’d do the exact same let him aura farm imagine if he posts behind the scenes as well…some of us wants to see this 😂
@cjjacobs_39 Controversial take I love this but I’d hate it of the ref let go of 2 obvious pens and did this I’d be in orbit.
@RobbinRams The ref in 2022 at the WC followed more then half of the argentina squad.
@BarbequeJo He can’t be proud of his accomplishments?
@Btomzz Collina legacy ruined
