Exact Adidas Y-3 Items Vincent Kompany Wore During UCL Games Against Atalanta

The commanding presence of managers in the beautiful game has evolved massively over the 21st century. What a manager wears isn’t bound to just a neat suit and tie, as proven by Vincent Kompany.

In the recent Champions League fixtures between F.C Bayern Munich and Atalanta, Vincent Kompany represented his team on the touchline with an immaculate sense of fashion, the former belgium captain rocked full Adidas gear during both cold European nights.

In the first leg, Kompany’s side dropped a bombshell on the away night to the Italian club, in an emphatic 6-1 victory, where Kompany rocked this outfit from the dugout.

Many compared his drip to what Kanye West wears in concerts and public settings. Which is what this tweet is referencing with the song “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” by Kanye West playing over the video.

He took the same fashion sense to the next game back at home, where even the Bayern Munich twitter admin had to mention the Belgian’s acquired taste.

Again, Bayern won the 2nd leg dominantly as well, a 4-1 result meant a 10-2 aggregate score over the 2 legs. So what was Kompany wearing those nights?

Kompany typically wears darker, modern trendy clothes when he’s managing games. Usually something similar to black hoodies, black baseball cap, Cargo pants or trousers, accompanied by a pair of sneakers. He has a much more casual and informal uniform compared to older managers. The most formal Kompany gets is wearing a tracksuit or a quarter zip jacket designed for sportswear.

Let’s see how the manager was presenting himself against Atalanta by checking the Adidas catalog across the Deutsch and UK market, where Kompany most likely got it from.

Kompany wore a Y-3 Classic Logo Cap, a minimalist black cotton twill cap with a black Y-3 embroidered on the front. Adidas’ online catalog doesn’t have the exact cap, you can either find Kompany’s exact hat with 3 stripes, or a large Y-3 logo cap here. The cap will cost around €70.

His jacket seems to not be in online Adidas Catalogs in Europe. It is a Firebird 3 stripe jacket that you can find on this page, but it isn’t the grey striped jacket Kompany has. It costs €60.

His cargo pants are probably the “Y-3 SPORT UNIFORM WIDE CARGO Trousers” item. It is available in multiple different market Adidas covers, and costs €350. It’s plausible that he wore different trousers in the 2nd leg fixture.

Kompany’s stylish sneakers are the Adidas Superstar XLG sneakers. They have a chunkier platform sole than regular Superstars. This is complimented well with the baggy fit on the pants. The sneakers cost around €95.

Overall, Kompany’s drip costs around €575. It’s most likely that, as Kompany has partnered with Adidas since his playing days, he was mostly likely gifted these clothing items as part of a deal with Adidas. Never the less, his touchline presence isn’t the same without his fashion, which has made the rounds on social media ever since he began managing the German side.
