Kylian Mbappe Moves Beyond NBA Fandom With Surprise NFL Jersey Swap

Kylian Mbappe is without a doubt one of football’s biggest names. In today’s time, it is nearly impossible not to talk about football without bringing up the French star’s incredible performances.

Mbappe’s popularity has also extended due to his love for US sports, specifically the NBA. He has been very public regarding his support of the Los Angeles Lakers. He has also stated that Lebron James is his favourite basketball player and has been seen attending basketball games with his teammates on many occasions.

Mbappe’s ties with American sports once again came to the forefront as he linked up with NFL running back Bijan Robinson. The two players were seen swapping Jerseys in what was called “a legendary kit swap” by Bijan’s Team the Atlanta Falcons.

Bijan is seen as one of the NFL‘s most promising talents and was selected as the 8th overall draft pick by the Atlanta Falcons. He is known for his explosive speed and agility. The running back recorded 287 carries in 1487 running yards, placing him firmly in the top 5 for both of those stats amongst running backs in the league.

Kylian Mbappe, on the other hand, has cemented himself as one of football’s finest in Europe. He is currently having an incredible season with Real Madrid, having found the back of the net 36 times in 33 games.

This linkup continues to highlight the NFL’s growth as meetups like these bridge the gap between the two sports.

The meetup was made possible as Bijan is on vacation in France during the NFL Off-season.

Fans from both sides loved the crossover and took to social media to showcase their pleasant surprise.

Fans also took this opportunity to have some fun by suggesting that the winger should be signed for the Atlanta United team in the MLS. One user, ShedainaD, mentioned this by saying, “Atlanta United claim his discovery rights NOW”

Other fans also talked about a potential world in which Mbappe plays American Football, especially alongside Bijan. The players playing together are seen as an attractive option due to them both being known for their stunning pace and speed.

This is not the first time that we have seen Mbappe swapping jerseys with players outside of football, as he has also swapped Jerseys with Lebron James back in 2018 during his time at PSG.

Mbappe has been having an incredible season with Real Madrid; however, he has been sidelined by a knee injury for the last few matches. Having said that, he has now recovered and hopes to start with the same form and help out his national and club teams.

On the club side, he is set to face Mallorca in LaLiga and Bayern Munich in the Champions League Quarter-finals in the first week of April.

Bijan Robinson will be taking his time off as the NFL preseason isn’t expected to start again till early August.
