It would be fair to say that Noni Madueke’s time at Arsenal has been less than impressive so far.
The signs were already there as Arsenal fans protested heavily online when the rumors connected the then Chelsea winger to a north London move.
The 24-year-old was eventually signed in July 2025 for a deal worth £52 million — a 70% increase on what the Blues paid for Madueke in 2023.
A knee injury in September further disrupted his start at Arsenal but the comeback was nothing short of spectacular, scoring in the UCL wins over Bayern and Club Brugge.
But all the excitement about Madueke’s return soon fizzled out with his outing against Leeds and Leverkusen being the only standout performances since then.
The biggest criticisms against Madueke is that he’s slow, afraid to dribble past his marker, cannot make a clean cross if his life depended on it and the lack of shooting ability.
So, in a way, it wasn’t surprising to see the responses when Sky Sports urged their followers to send in their questions for Madueke.

It’s a normal social media tactic that big football accounts like Sky Sports employ to farm engagement.
But the result this time was anything but normal, as football fans used the moment to troll Madueke with some of the most brutal questions regarding his playstyle and output on the pitch –
@ArsenalReviewed I’ve noticed you can’t stop your feet from going over the white line, would you ever consider taking 1 less step and keeping the ball in play?
@JoshCUFC95 If you were 2 inches from taking your man on or 2 inches away from the byline would you give away a goal kick or a throw in
@ozilical_ How many dumbbells are in your boots?
@RobxAFC Hello Noni I would like to ask a question. Is there a reason you choose to run the ball out of play or shoot at the side netting rather than scoring or assisting a goal? Want to hear the MENTALITY behind it, big ups 👊 #SaturdaySocial #AskMadueke
@triwithsv Can you please ask him if he knows where the pitch ends?
@adzhanti When they say you should “stretch the pitch” did you think it was literal? #AskMadueke
@Blessing_Olivi Do you think you can ever improve and get to the level of an average footballer?
@Chief_Omz Are you aware that there’s lines on the pitch and once you pass those lines the ball is out of play? #AskMadueke
@qxssan When should we expect your 2nd league goal of the season? Gameweek 37 or 38?
It sure seems like Madueke saw all the troll questions on Sky Sports’ tweet as he redeemed himself with an energetic display against Atletico Madrid during the 1-1 draw at Metropolitano.
Madueke was excellent at breaking down the low blocks Diego Simeone put forth and his dribbling had a quality fans have rarely seen from him this season.
The Barnet born winger was also caught on camera complaining Arteta’s decision to sub him off for Bukayo Saka in the second half.
All we can hope is that Madueke takes all this trolling to fuel his performances on the pitch just like he did in the UCL semi final 1st leg last night.
