Leandro Trossard has never needed to be the loudest name in Arsenal’s attack to make his presence felt.
In a squad filled with headline players, the Belgian has often done his best work quietly, drifting into space, taking chances early, and producing moments that matter when games start to tighten.
Since joining Arsenal from Brighton, Trossard has built a reputation as one of Mikel Arteta’s most reliable problem-solvers. He is not always guaranteed to start every big match, but he rarely looks out of place when called upon.
Whether used from the left, through the middle, or as an impact option from the bench, he gives Arsenal control, intelligence and a finishing touch that has proved valuable across the season.
That has been the story of his current campaign, too.
Arsenal’s title challenge has depended on choking uncomfortable games till the end, needing players capable of stepping up when matches become awkward, tense or narrow. Trossard has consistently been one of those players.
Scoring 8 goals and assisting 10 times this season, he has won many crucial games for Arsenal.
But Trossard’s knack for decisive goals did not begin in north London. At Brighton, he scored 25 Premier League goals and was already known as a sharp, two-footed forward who could punish big teams.
During his time at Brighton, Trossard followed his goals with the ‘goggles’ celebration.
His famous celebration has also followed him to Arsenal.
When Trossard joined Arsenal in 2023, he revealed that this celebration actually held an emotional connection to his son, Thiago. Trossard revealed that his son had seen it on YouTube and told him to do it. Ever since then, whenever Trossard scores, it has become a father-son thing to do the celebration.
However, Trossard paired his ‘goggles’ celebration with another after his most recent winner against West Ham in the Premier League.

In a tight match against the Hammers, Arsenal were struggling to find a breakthrough. In the 83rd minute, Trossard scored what would eventually be the winner for Arsenal, sending them 5 points clear of Manchester City.
He did his ‘goggles’ celebration that he always does, but also added a ‘T’ at the end. Many fans thought it meant ‘Title’ or ‘Trossard’.
But the fans soon noted that Trossard mouthed what appeared to be ‘Thiago’, his son’s name, making it clear to everyone that it was for his son.

According to Daily Mail, Trossard’s wife, Laura Hilven, had removed all her posts related to Trossard, including their wedding pictures.
The couple had been together for almost 13 years, getting married in 2019. Laura recently wiped out her social media life with Trossard, but fans noticed another detail.
Laura had not worn her wedding or engagement ring in any photos she had posted since December, leading many fans to believe that they had separated sometime ago.
With this news coming out on matchday, and the spreading rumours of divorce, fans made a further connection; many assumed that Trossard did this to help him get custody of his son.

Although this is a matter of sympathy, Arsenal fans were quick to make light of the situation.
Some fans joked that they hope the judge of the custody battle will be an Arsenal fan.
While others spoke about his form, comparing him to ‘post-divorce Tom Brady’ and Ronaldo Nazario.

While social media always makes light of serious situations, this moment tells us more about Trossard and his work ethic.
As he goes through something devastating in his personal life, Trossard still manages to show up when his team needs him the most, fighting to help Arsenal win the Premier League and Champions League double.
