Cole Palmer Launches COLED Ice Brand With Gopuff Amid Fan Backlash

Chelsea winger Cole Palmer is getting trolled for promoting craft ice products on social media. Fans are finding it completely absurd yet hilarious that a Premier League star is selling luxury, electrolyte-infused ‘craft ice’.

In order to introduce “COLE’D,” a line of premium, purified ice developed in collaboration with instant-commerce platform Gopuff, the marketing campaign makes extensive use of the England football player’s well-known “Cold Palmer” character.

Billed as the world’s first electrolyte-enhanced packaged ice, the lineup features a unique variety of options, including football-shaped craft spheres, traditional cubes, and chewable pebble ice.

To kick off the launch, Palmer shared a cinematic-style advertisement across his personal social channels and Gopuff’s digital platforms. The video mimics a breaking news alert reporting a “rapid freeze event” and a massive winter storm cell taking over West London, ultimately culminating in the brand’s tagline “Stay COLE’D.”

To generate organic viral press, Palmer arrived at Chelsea’s pre-season training grounds openly carrying bags of his COLE’D electrolyte ice. The intentional stunt drew the attention of former Chelsea player John Terry as well.

Unlike traditional brand ambassadors who simply sign endorsement deals and walk away, Palmer is positioning himself as a true equity partner.

He has been sharing behind-the-scenes content detailing his personal involvement in the brand’s creative direction from taste-testing the electrolyte formulas to personally selecting the final bag designs.

While Cole Palmer promoting his new ice product in the current London heatwave is a genius marketing move, the internet is making fun of him.

Fans instantly flooded his Instagram comments with jokes that he was trapped at home promoting ice cubes rather than competing in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the largest platform in the world. A lot of people on social media also thought it was hilarious to watch a professional athlete go into the ice cube industry.

The majority of supporters argue that he ought to concentrate on football instead than advertising ice cube sales. Fans are making jokes about paying £4 for a four-pack of football-shaped ice spheres after learning how expensive the artisan ice is.

Fans made fun of Chelsea legend John Terry for purchasing four ice cubes after he shared an image of COLE’D ice spheres with positive reviews.

Despite the jokes, the “Cole’d” line offers a number of distinctive goods, such as conventional filtered cubes and electrolyte-enhanced pebble ice. For clarity and gradual melting, the ice spheres are specifically frozen.
