After cruising to the Premier League title in Arne Slot’s first year in charge, Liverpool endured a disappointing 2025/26 season, barely clinching Champions League qualification by finishing fifth in the table.
Slot has now been relieved of his duties, and the Reds can look forward to turning a new page with Andoni Iraola at the helm. Preparing for the challenges of the new season, the team is currently hard at work in pre-season camp.
On Thursday, a video of a recent training session began making the rounds on social media. The clip featured core players such as Virgil Van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch, Florian Wirtz and Kostas Tsimikas, along with talented young prospect Ifeanyi Ndukwe.

Instead of what the stars were actually doing, however, the video gained traction because fans took notice of the surprising choice of music that was playing in the background.
While all the players in the clip are European, the music playing on the speakers seems to be a traditional Arabic melody. Upon further inspection, the track can be identified as “Sidi Mansour”, an iconic Tunisian song which was released by artist Saber Rebai in 2000.
Most fans assumed this was likely a track that Mohamed Salah introduced to his teammates, and they have continued listening to it in training sessions even though he is no longer a part of the Liverpool team.
“Salah left his with the aux cable or what. What they listening to,” a fan wrote.
“Legacy Mo Salah playlist? 😂,” another supporter commented.
In most teams, the senior figures of the squad often exert most control on the tunes playing in the dressing room, and Mo Salah definitely fit that bill. Ever since joining Liverpool in June 2017, the winger went on to establish himself as one of the best players in the club’s history.
In terms of seniority, perhaps only two players – centre back Virgil Van Dijk and goalkeeper Alisson, were on par with the Egyptian great.
Though he played a starring role in Liverpool’s domestic triumph two years ago, Salah endured a turbulent 2025/26 season, wherein he also publicly clashed with ex-manager Arne Slot. He has now started a new chapter of his career, signing with Trabzonspor in Turkey.
While he is no longer with the Reds in person, it looks like Salah’s influence is still apparent in the dressing room, and re-playing some of his music recommendations may be the team’s way of remembering the many memorable moments they enjoyed together in the past.
