Liverpool fans left raging at what Roberto Firmino did on Instagram following Everton loss

It has not been a particularly good time to be a Liverpool fan of late.

The defending champions of England are currently on a very poor run of form in the Premier League this season, as their bid to defend their well-earned league title from last season has hit a screeching halt after losing four of their last five games in all competitions.

Anfield is no longer the fortress that it once was in the past two seasons as Jurgen Klopp’s outfit who were on their way to break Jose Mourinho and Chelsea’s record of an unbeaten run of 86 games at home in the Premier League – have now lost four league games at home in a row.

The latest of the streak of defeats at home came in a 2-0 loss to city rivals Everton this past weekend. Goals from Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurddson secured all three points for the Toffees on enemy territory, as Everton are now level on points with Liverpool – but Carlo Ancelotti’s side have a game in hand to play.

It is safe to say that Liverpool supporters were not happy with their team’s performance on the night, but one of their footballers’ social media activity following the defeat had sections of the Liverpool following absolutely raging.

Centre forward Roberto Firmino was spotted to have liked his Everton counterpart Richarlison’s Instagram post after winning at Anfield.

While Firmino could be defending himself by stating that he is only liking his fellow Brazilian international’s post on a social media platform, some of Liverpool’s ardent followers clearly do not think that way.

A fan pointed out the fact that the “lack of awareness” in Firmino’s gesture on Instagram is disrespectful – it almost speaks out loud that some of the Liverpool players are not nearly as annoyed as the fans are.

Firmino might not be in the wrong for liking his compatriot’s post after a loss, but the fact that the post was made by the person who scored in Everton’s first derby win at Anfield for 22 years is what makes it disrespectful to the extreme.
