9 days after their exhilarating victory in Madrid, the fans are still celebrating and why not. Liverpool endured a season to remember. Finishing the league with 97 points and only beaten to a relentless Manchester City side.

The UEFA Champions League final in Madrid was a game that completely turned the tide and made up for the league sorrow that the lads endured.

Liverpool went in as favourites but in the game of football, one can never write anyone out. As expected, Liverpool came out on top in the final and won it 2-0.

The celebrations since then have been astounding and impeccable. With around 750,000 fans attending the parade around the team bus, the event was truly a memorable one.

Fans have been waiting for silverware and some taste of success. The last trophy won was a league cup back in 2012 and ever since, the club has endured a drought period.

Jurgen Klopp however has managed to completely change the energy levels of both the fans and players and boy what a change that has been!

Firmino goes cannonball during celebrations

With a ton of videos circulating on the internet since the win, many people have just taken notice to what Roberto Firmino produced at the full-time whistle in Madrid. A wild somersault!

Roberto Firmino is surely a fan favourite with his karate kick celebrations and no-look goals. A player of his class and craziness is the right mix for a club like Liverpool who are aiming to regain the status as European giants and stay at the top for a long period.

With the current squad and Klopp to look after them, Liverpool are on track for a successful period ahead.

Video: Not sure how this Liverpool trainer will recover after getting nutmegged by Firmino in training

With the UEFA Champions League final fast approaching, Firmino faces a test against time to recover and play a part in the final.

Injured for the past month and missing the second leg against Barcelona, The fans may finally have something to cheer about as far as Bobby is concerned after Jurgen Klopp admitted that things are “looking good”.

Preparation for the big game

Ahead of the biggest game of their season, Liverpool are back in Melwood for their preparation.

Part of their training camp in Marbella, Spain was a practice match against Benfica B. The Reds won the game 3-0 at the Marbella complex but whether or not Firmino played a part is unknown as it was behind closed doors.

Fit or not, it was clear to see that the Brazilian hasn’t lost any of his touch as showed no mercy before nutmegging a Liverpool staff member while training yesterday.

Some fans believe that he is ready for the game and the “injury” is just mind games:

Mind games… He’s actually fully fit and raring to go :)— Jadon (@jadonc2304)

Some fans joked the staff member was a Barcelona defender:

Oh look, Barcelona’s defence— David Leaney (@DavidLeaney)

The fans will hope Firmino is fit enough to start the final. There’s no doubt that his presence is very crucial to the squad.

Firmino who is known for his pressing abilities even though him being a striker is the kind of tactical edge and difference that Liverpool possess that not many teams can boast.

Here’s hoping Bobby gets fit in time for the final!

(Video) Airport officials wouldn’t have liked this Liverpool fan singing the Firmino song on the tannoy

“Si Senor!”

“Ladies and Gentlemen, there’s something the kop wants you to know. Best in the world is Bobby Firmino!”

The above lines are lyrics to the song “Si Senor” made for Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino.

A recent video saw the above lines being sung at an airport by a Liverpool fan on his way to Madrid to watch his team play the Champions League final.

The video is doing rounds in social media and has been well received by fellow Liverpool fans, can’t say the same about the airport officials though.

Check out the video below –

The song was made by the Liverpool fans after Jurgen Klopp demanded a song for the Brazilian attacker last season in an interview.

“Do we already have a Bobby Firmino song?” asked Klopp. “But it’s only Bobby Firmino, right? That’s not a song, hello? So I think he really deserves a song. I order a song for Bobby”, he demanded.

Six months later, the fans came up with a brand new song for the Brazilian number nine at Turf Moor after his goal led the team to a 3-1 victory against Burnley. The tune is similar to a song sung by River Plate fans in Argentina.

The availability of Firmino in the upcoming final was a huge question for both the fans and the manager. However, Klopp has confirmed that the Brazilian “will be fine” for the Champions League final against Tottenham.

Rad – Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane arrived at Marbella dressed like absolute ballers

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool landed in Marbella, Spain for a six-day training prior to the Champions League final. Liverpool are going up against their national rivals,Tottenham Hotspur in a final which would be held in Madrid on 2nd June.

Liverpool squad including their German manager arrived in their official club sponsored sportswear. But Mané & Firmino chose to stand out.

Bobby & Sadio

In fact, the Brazilian star, Roberto Firmino landed in Marbella ahead of the squad in a bid to overcome his thigh problem before the final.

He opted for an all white Gucci t-shirt & torn cargo shorts coupled with slippers. Firmino, lovingly called Bobby, concocted a perfect summer ensemble for his weekend at Marbella.

To add to his footballer look he also sported a white cap as well as a funky backpack. His revealed tattoos only added to his absolute baller getup.

Senegal man Sadio Mané surprised everyone by selecting an all black attire in the hot weather of Spain.

His full sleeved t-shirt & shorts have stylized linings with black & white knits giving the otherwise casual attire an air of swagger.

The club & its supporters have a lot of expectations from these two men & a bucket full of stakes are riding on them.

It should be noted that a  footballer arriving in style is never an indication of a laid-back attitude. Instead they have always come to signify that the player is ready to take on any challenging situation.

So Liverpool fans should feel more optimistic as their favorites are gearing up to fight off their opponents.

But then what about Spurs? Well… beware. Since the Reds are in no way going to let the silver trophy get out of their hands again.

Liverpool’s 26 man training squad

Alexander-Arnold, Alisson, Brewster, Fabinho, Firmino, Gomez, Henderson, Jones, Keita, Kelleher, Lallana, Lovren, Mane, Matip. Mignolet, Milner, Moreno, Origi, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Robertson, Salah, Shaqiri, Sturridge, Van Dijk, Wijnaldum, Woodburn.

UCL Countdown

The Reds are fully focused in preparation for the finals in the exclusive city of Marbella.

After that they will fly off to Madrid to face Spurs in an epic Premier League battle at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Guess nobody expected that the UEFA Champions League road to Madrid will conclude with an all-English showdown. That too at the home of the Spanish giants, Atletico Madrid.

Roberto Firmino drops filthy no-look pass in training – Spurs aren’t ready for this

In a grab from the Liverpool striker’s Instagram story, the Brazilian forward could be seen creating a pin-point accurate pass at training – without even looking at the ball.

Famous for his skills and tricks on the pitch, Firmino is no stranger to such quirks. The popularity of his videos online in which he completes outrageous skill ‘challenges’ with ridiculous ease are a great example of this.

Firmino is also well known for his ‘no-look football’. He looks one way and shoots the other, confusing defenders and creating chances. He has also scored outlandish no- look goals.

Why Firmino can ‘no-look’ but the Spurs need to keep their eyes peeled :

Firmino went out of action for 3 weeks following Liverpool’s first leg defeat against Barcelona in the Champions League semi finals.

He missed the final game of the Premier League season as he was undergoing treatment for a groin injury . However, reports suggest that he is recuperating fully and has already joined the squad before the final.

Pochettino’s boys at Tottenham too deserve credit for their turnaround victory against Ajax. They may be high on confidence and spirit, but the news of Firmino’s addition will not help them breathe easy.

The Liverpool striker has 16 goals to his name in the season thus far. He makes clever runs behind defences and assists magnificently. Added to his obvious talent is this ridiculous skill.

The Liverpool statistic OptaJoe labeled as ‘crazy’

The 2018/19 edition of the Premier League ended few days ago as Liverpool came astonishingly close to winning the title, getting narrowly beaten by Manchester City with just a point separating the two sides.

It was a record-breaking season for the Reds as they amassed the 3rd highest points tally in Premier League history and were still being unable to win the title.

One of the records, which largely went unnoticed, was the number of goals Liverpool players scored by using their heads.

Liverpool went on to score 19 headed goals in the Premier League, which was way more than any other team in the division.

And according to OptaJoe, who labeled the statistic as ‘crazy’, Liverpool’s record of scoring headed goals is only bettered by that of Wimbledon, who managed to score 22 headed goals back in the 1995-96 season.

Arguably the best full-back pairing in the Premier League

A massive reason for all the headed goals Liverpool scored this season is the full-back duo of Andrew Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Arguably the best full-back pairing in the Premier League currently, both TAA and Robbo delivered pin-point crosses in the box with precision throughout the entirety of the season.

Manager Jurgen Klopp should also be commended on how the fullbacks have improved over the past 2 years. Andrew Robertson, who arrived from Hull City in 2017 for just 10 million euros, is now one of the best left-backs in the world, while home grown Trent Alexander- Arnold is well on his way on being a club legend just at the meager age of 20.

In Klopp’s system, the fullbacks are able to push high up the pitch, due to a defensive midfield cover. This allows them to fire crosses into the box, and with the likes of Firmino or Mane lurking in the penalty area, the crosses get converted a significant number of times.

Both Robertson and Alexander-Arnold have reached double digits in terms of assists, with them registering 13 and 15 assists in all competitions respectively.

Sadio Mane- Liverpool’s most complete forward

One of Liverpool’s key players, and a part of the famous front 3, Sadio Mane was crucial in Liverpool’s title charge and their quest for a 6th Champions League crown.

More importantly, he was clinical for the side during Salah’s rare goal drought. He finished the season with an incredible 22 goals and shared the Premier League Golden Boot award with Salah and Aubameyang.

So what makes Sadio Mane Liverpool’s, or even the Premier League’s most complete forward?

Of all the world class forwards that play in the Premier League, including Aguero, Kane and Aubameyang, Sadio Mane is the only player to have scored 5 goals with his right foot, left foot and head!

He has scored 6 goals via headers this season. No Liverpool player has managed more than him.

What’s next for Sadio Mane and Liverpool

Mane will hope to continue his excellent form for Liverpool when they face Tottenham in next month’s Champions League final. With his excellent dribbling skills and clinical finishing, he will definitely be a thorn in Tottenham’s defense.

Mauricio Pelligrino names 2 Barcelona and 3 Liverpool players who can “kill the game in one action”

In a recent interview, current Leganes manager Mauricio Pellegrino spoke on the available threat that both these teams pose and stated 2 Barcelona players and 3 Liverpool players who he thinks can change the nature of the game with just a solitary move. These players are Messi and Suarez for Barcelona and Firmino, Salah and Mane for Liverpool.

If we look at that statement objectively, there is very little to argue about. Both Messi and Suarez have been the most consistent forwards in Barcelona’s front line, with both Dembele’s and Coutinho’s season riddled with either injuries, or some periods of inconsistencies.

When analyzing the players within their respective teams for the upcoming match, we can clearly see why Pellegrino feels that these players can turn the tide of the game.

Both Suarez and Messi have been in top form as of late, with Suarez pitching in with 24 goals and 12 assists in all competitions and Messi notching an incredible 46 goals and 22 assists in all competitions. Such form has helped Barcelona clinch their 26th La Liga title, and their 4th in 5 years. With the title being done and dusted, Barcelona will now shift their complete focus on the Champions league, in search for a possible treble.

Liverpool famous front 3, have also had incredible seasons. Both Salah and Mane landed their 21st and 20th goals for the Premier League season, in their 5-0 destruction over Huddersfield. The only negative from that match, from a Liverpool perspective, was the absence of their number 9 Roberto Firmino.

Having suffered a groin tear during training, he was forced to sit out of the Huddersfield match, with his place being taken by Daniel Sturridge. Although he may not be the most prolific forward, what makes him so crucial to Jurgen Klopp’s team is his work ethic, both on and off the ball, and his ability to drop deep and help build up play.

He now faces a race against time to recover from his injury, and try and be in contention for a place in Klopp’s starting eleven.

Irrespective of what happens, both Jurgen Klopp and Ernesto Valverde’s men are bound to give us what should be the juiciest tie in recent Champions League history.
