The fans that usually sing “he’s one of of our own” sung a different tune at Harry Kane as the clock ran down during a memorable win against Manchester City.
It was the loudest chant of the evening as Spurs fans made their feelings clear by singing ‘are you watching Harry Kane?’ at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s men pulled off a shock win against Pep Guardiola’s mega-money side after Son Heung-min found the back of the net with a curling effort in the second half.
The visitors had the home side penned in for the first 15 minutes but Spurs showed incredible energy and hunger thereafter.
Manchester City seemingly lost their heads in a heated match environment as Tottenham players played with energy, desire, heart and passion.
Much of the talk pre-match had been about Harry Kane’s future and how it could very well lie with Spurs’ opposition on the day.
But it was the Spurs faithful who had the last say as they reminded their boyhood hero that grass always isn’t greener on the other side.
A powerful moment
What a win. Hearing 60,000 people chant “Are you watching, Harry Kane?” powerful. Glad to be back.— Izzy 🤍🐓 (@izzy_thfc) August 15, 2021
The perfect response
The chant “Are you watching Harry Kane?” is the perfect fan response. Not booing, and might have meant something different for each who sang. But it’s a message that Kane needs to ponder. What does he truly want?— Jeremy Morehouse (@jdm2241) August 15, 2021
Give Nuno a chance

Loved it. It was sang in a way where we weren’t disrespecting him but just reminding him of what he has here. Stay here another season H, give the Nuno project a chance. Get your release clause in a new contract if you need it. pic.twitter.com/mOei6BIVnn
Big hats off to whoever started the “are you watching Harry Kane” chant today— Alex (@xAlexTHFC) August 15, 2021
Quality moment 👏🤣
Though, for some, the legacy is already ruined
Biased but cheeky
