Tottenham players involved in the ‘worst rondo ever seen’ before the Champions League final

Only last few training sessions remain before Spurs and Liverpool meet in an epic English face-off this Saturday.

While this is a humongous occasion for Spurs, who have never played a Champions League Final before, they seem to have thrown some major doubts about their readiness for the finals.

Training session at Hotspur Way

Spurs recently held an open training session at the Hotspur Way. It was a chance for the public & global media alike, to see the team’s shape before the finals.

A journalist recorded a video of the Spurs players including Harry Kane involved in a rondo session in training.

Instead of perfect one-touch passes, the public got to witness one of the worst ball exchanges between some of the most reputable stars in football.

Fan Reaction

Some fans are trying to console themselves by saying that short one-touch passes are not their style of game.

Here’s hoping that Tottenham doesn’t make a fool out of themselves when they go up against Liverpool at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Or maybe this was all staged to lure Liverpool into a false sense of security before the finals.

Tottenham fans not impressed with Sky Sports neglecting Harry Kane in this graphic

Harry Kane is who you would call a homegrown hero. Coming through the Tottenham youth system after stints at Arsenal and Watford, Kane is now a household name at Spurs. Currently Spurs’ talisman up top, the England international is now regarded as one of the most lethal strikers in the world, scoring goals for fun and leading from the front.

Kane came into prominence during the 2014-15 season, where he grabbed 21 goals in the league. His numbers and performances earned him an England call-up, and he has been a regular for the Three Lions ever since.

And he’s no one-season wonder either, as Kane has scored 20+ goals in each of his last 4 seasons, including a personal best of 30 goals in the 2017-18 season. Still only 25, Kane has won the Premier League Golden Boot twice at Tottenham, during the 2015-16 and the 2016-17 seasons.

Looking well on his way to maintain his consistent record of scoring 20+ goals, things took a turn for the worse this season as Kane picked up an injury after a tackle by Fabian Delph during Tottenham’s 1-0 win against Manchester City in the UCL quarter-final first leg.

Spurs have since confirmed that he has suffered significant ligament damage, which will most likely rule out for the season.

Despite all this, Kane still has 17 league goals to his name this season, joint third on the list, level with Sterling, and behind Mane on 18 and Salah, Aguero, Aubameyang on 19.

But when Sky Sports recently covered the top-scorers list, Harry Kane’s name was nowhere to be seen.

Spurs fans were left in disbelief over the blunder by Sky Sports in relation to Kane’s omission from the list. Who knew an injury could keep you off the pitch, and off the list?

Hailed as “one of their own”, Spurs fans will be hoping that Kane recovers quickly, while also hoping to get a correct list of top-scorers on the TV next time. It’s no doubt that Kane is vital to Spurs’ ambitions, but how well do you think Spurs have coped since Kane’s absence?
