PRIME Hydration, the brainchild of YouTubers KSI and Logan Paul, has quickly established itself as a major player in sports hydration and has become a strong competitor to veterans of the sports beverage game such as Gatorade and Lucozade.
Since its launch in January 2022, Prime is now available in multiple countries and is reportedly on track to surpass $1.2 billion in annual sales within two years of launch, according to Bloomberg.
One of the key reasons for this success is the brands ability to rope in some of the leading athletes as “PRIME Athletes” and also tying up with multiple top sports teams around the world.
Some of the big names this YouTuber-led brand has signed are Women’s footballer Alisha Lehmann, UFC star Israel Adesanya, Man City striker Erling Haaland, and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. With celebrities signed all across the world and in various sports, the brand gets reach beyond one could imagine. Apart from this, they also sponsor the UFC and the WWE.
While KSI and Logan Paul have breached the world of sports to some extent, one of the GOATs of football, Cristiano Ronaldo, went the other way, launching his YouTube channel UR Cristiano that broke multiple records within hours of being launched.
So why are we talking about PRIME Hydration, a YouTuber-led product and star athlete Cristiano Ronaldo, who we know is an advocate for water as the right source of hydration?
The hot news: a video clip posted online shows Ronaldo walking to what looks to be the entrance of the stadium, passing by a few reporters and photographers clutching a green bottle of PRIME, likely the Lemon Lime flavour in his left hand.
The image sparked immediate speculation: Is Ronaldo the next athlete to join PRIME’s roster of ambassadors?
While there’s been no official announcement from either Ronaldo’s camp or PRIME, the mere sight of the bottle in Ronaldo’s hand has ignited discussions about what such a partnership could mean.
PRIME’s track record of signing top-tier athletes suggests that if Ronaldo were to align with the brand, it would be nothing short of a game-changer. Securing Ronaldo as a brand ambassador would likely involve a significant investment, potentially in the range of tens of millions of dollars.
While it wouldn’t do much to Ronaldo’s brand, it might change the way people view Cristiano as a lifestyle model. But on the other hand, it would do tons for the hydration beverage.
Fans are speculating whether MrBeast might have played a role in bridging the gap between Cristiano Ronaldo and PRIME Hydration. Given his close association with Logan Paul and KSI through their collaborative snack brand, Lunchly, MrBeast seems like an ideal candidate to facilitate such a monumental crossover.
The timeline also adds credibility to this theory. The clip of Ronaldo holding a PRIME bottle surfaced on December 7th, shortly after the release of the highly anticipated MrBeast x Ronaldo collaboration videos.
Even without an official endorsement, the viral clip has already served as a massive advertisement for PRIME. The global exposure generated by Ronaldo simply being in the same frame as the brand could push the product more than one could imagine.
Whether or not a formal partnership materializes, PRIME might have already reaped some benefits of the association, proving the power of a single moment in the age of social media.
