Soon to be Liverpool‘s newest recruit, Hugo Ekitike, was seen flying to Merseyside in a dripped-out Adidas attire.

This is in light of his €95m move to Liverpool from Eintracht Frankfurt, which was reported by Fabrizio Romano a couple of days ago.

As reported by French journalist Fabrice Hawkins, he was seen flying in a private jet with his agent, Karl Mwalako, for his Liverpool medical and contract signing duties.

The Frenchman was seen donning the Adidas Originals Chavarria Knit Blue Track Pants, which are available for £148 on the official Adidas Originals website. In terms of the jacket, he was wearing the Adidas Originals Chavarria White Poplin Track Top, which is priced at £240. While also rocking the Cloud White Adidas Originals 1 Megaride shoes, which are priced at £140.

Besides the Adidas drip, the 23 YO held a Louis Vuitton bag. It’s a bigger version LV x TM Speedy Bandoulière 25 edition, which is priced at £2,296.20 on the official LV website.

But what caught the eyes of many was a whacked out looking doll on his LV bag.

As it turns out it’s a Labubu doll. They are a cute yet creepy collectible toy character, often seen as a plush keychain, vinyl figure, or blind-box toy. It’s instantly recognizable by its wide, toothy grin with sharp teeth, long bunny-like ears, and scruffy, impish appearance.

It is most commonly sold through “blind boxes,” which means you buy a sealed box without knowing which version you’ll get.

Labubu was created by Kasing Lung, a Hong Kong-born, Dutch-raised illustrator. He originally introduced Labubu in a picture-book series titled “The Monsters” in 2015. Labubu is the main character in this series.

Lung later partnered with Pop Mart, a Chinese toy company, to mass-produce Labubu vinyl figures starting in 2019, which became famous across the US, Europe, and globally.

Ekitike was seen with a Labubu keychain attached to his Louis Vuitton bag.

This is most likely the “Secret Edition” Black Labubu Plush Keychain from the Energy Series (a.k.a. Big Into Energy or ID Labubu Series) by POP MART. It is priced at £28.12 in retail outlets and can be discounted for as low as £18.91.

What’s next for Ekitike?

Ekitike had a stellar season with Frankfurt last campaign, registering 22 goals and 12 assists across all competitions, helping his club finish 3rd in the Bundesliga with 60 points, and guaranteeing Champions League football.

The mercurial striker will aim to complete his medical and contract formalities soon and be available for Liverpool’s next pre-season game against AC Milan on the 26th of July at the Kai Tak Sports Park in Hong Kong.

Liverpool are fresh off a 5-0 thrashing of Stoke City in their first game of the preseason and will want to quickly integrate Ekitike into the squad as they look to defend their Premier League title for the upcoming season.

If they have the French striker performing at similar levels as last season, they just might defend their title after all.
