Antoine Semenyo has made an explosive start to life at Manchester City.
The 26-year-old Ghana international has scored four goals in his first six appearances since his £65 million January transfer from Bournemouth.
He’s already netted a crucial goal in the recent 2-2 draw against Tottenham and tallied 14 goals in 27 appearances across the 2025/26 season.
With a crucial Anfield showdown against Liverpool coming up and City trailing Arsenal by six points, you’d expect Semenyo to be completely locked in on football.
But recent footage from the Adidas x FC 26 event in London revealed what he actually does in his downtime.
He watches Twitch streams with his friends, and he just got caught fanboying over one of the platform’s biggest stars, JasonTheWeen.
“I watch your streams, bro,” Semenyo said, clearly excited about the encounter.
Jason seemed skeptical that a Premier League star actually watches his content.
“I do bro. Like in spare time,” Semenyo responded, “Me and my boys watch your stream man.”
This is a player who just completed one of January’s biggest transfers. He’s training under Pep Guardiola, performing in front of 50,000 fans at the Etihad, and recently got added to City’s Champions League squad. After all those high-pressure matches and training sessions, he’s at home watching Twitch like everyone else.
When Jason asked who his favorite streamer is, Semenyo gave an honest answer.
“It was Rakai but I’m gonna go, you are up there as one of my favorite streamers.”
No PR spin. Just a professional footballer who genuinely enjoys the content.
JasonTheWeen has over 2 million Twitch followers and regularly pulls 18,000 concurrent viewers during his “Just Chatting” sessions and IRL streams.
But having a Manchester City player who’s scored twice at Anfield and is fired up for another trip there declare himself a regular viewer hits different.
“That means a lot,” Jason said, clearly moved by the interaction.
The conversation veers into even more playful territory, with Jason joking he might “convert” to be a City fan, prompting Semenyo to say, “I can do that for you bro”.

As Semenyo prepares for City’s must-win trip to Liverpool, this viral moment shows a different side of elite football. After the tactics, the pressure, and the spotlight, even Premier League stars are just fans of something themselves.
