Football is no stranger to players being best friends. We have seen some truly iconic partnerships like Cristiano Ronaldo and Marcelo, Manuel Neuer and Thomas Muller and of course the famous center back duo of Chiellini and Bonucci.

Another such iconic duo that gained popularity recently has been the Argentinian duo of Rodrigo De Paul and Lionel Messi. Their friendship gained popularity in the lead up to the 2022 World Cup where most team photos from the Argentina camp showed the two always training close to each other.

The midfielder has been very open about his friendship with the legend and has even credited him for convincing him for his move from Atletico Madrid to Inter Miami in 2025.

The duo was once again in the news, as Lionel Messi was seen appearing in a Music Video for Tini Stoessel’s new music video. The interesting part about this of course is that the singer is also the partner of Rodrigo De Paul.

Messi himself is seen in the video as attending a celebration dinner for De paul and his partner. He is seen waiting at the door, talking to people and laughing along with the other people at the table in the video.

The song “two lovers” has been dedicated by Tini to the love between her and De Paul.

Fans were amused at the music video seeing how De Paul has managed to convince Messi to take part in this music video.

Messi has been well known to be involved in multiple side quests ever since he won the World Cup in 2022. He was seen participating in a promotional video for the movie Bad Boys:Ride or Die in May 2024. The video went viral for the fact that it even had the rare occurrence of Messi speaking English. Many fans took the opportunity to talk about how Messi ever since having won the World Cup, has been doing and should be allowed to take part in such side quests.

Another very interesting fact people noticed in the video was that even in this scenario, De Paul’s chair at the table was closer to Messi’s than it was to his partner’s. A true testament to their friendship.

Some fans also commented on the fact that Messi who usually is seen as an introvert in this scenario still found a way to play football in the video.

No matter how you choose to perceive the video, it is without a doubt that Messi, who scored his 900th career goal a few days back has completed football and deserves to enjoy his success.

Messi and De Paul will next be in action on 22nd March against New York City FC in the MLS.
