Marcus Rashford made quite a buzz around the footballing circuits when he decided to leave his hometown club Manchester United for Barcelona last summer.
Since then he has enjoyed a stellar campaign at Cataluniya, scoring 14 goals and providing 14 assists in 48 games across competition.
His transition into the Barcelona team seemed quite smooth, especially considering the fact that settling in Spain can be a tough task for an Englishman considering the language barrier.
Rashford in this regard has been largely helped by Jules Koundé, thanks to the French defender’s ability to speak fluent English.
It was claimed that Koundé’s new deal at Barcelona was on the verge of collapsing due the Spanish giants signing Rashford, but that did not stop them from becoming close mates during the course of the season.
Koundé and Rashford strike an immediate friendship and their off the field chemistry showed on the pitch as well with the duo assisting each other twice in a campaign that ended up with Barcelona successfully defending both the La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup titles.
As the Catalan team celebrated their success recently with a squad dinner party, Koundé and Rashford’s off the field friendship once again grabbed the headlines.
Rashford decided to show up in a full dark suit along with his partner during the dinner party, while most of his teammates like Gavi, Pedri all showed up in more casual outfits.
Realising he was the odd one out, Rashford posted his photo on social media asking, “Overdressed or Overthinking?”
However, it got a nod of approval from Koundé, who had his mates back, replying, “No such thing like overdressing brother!” Rashford, who acknowledged Koundé’s comment by replying, “If the fashion king says this then I’m good.”
Koundé himself has developed into one of the most fashionable footballers across the world.
He has even appeared in campaigns and events connected to brands like Jacquemus, Louis Vuitton, and Kenzo. Hence, the nod of approval coming from Koundé seems like it certainly meant a lot for Marcus Rashford and it further signifies their deep friendship bond.
