On the day of historical significance, marking the 40th anniversary of the Argentina National Team’s crowning achievement at the FIFA World Cup Mexico 1986, Adidas, alongside the Argentine Football Association (AFA), officially launched Argentum Gambeta, the new official ball for Argentina domestic leagues and national team’s international matches in late June 2026.
The new ball will make its competitive debut across the country, starting with the next Clausura Tournament of the Argentine Primera Division.
Argentum Gambeta features distinct details rooted in Argentine culture. Sky blue and deep blue tones on a white background, like the national team’s jersey, laurels that cross the panel seams, and phrases from the historic “Canción Patriótica Nacional” anthem complete the ball’s design.

The name chosen for this ball pays direct tribute to the identity and DNA of the footballers from Argentina: the gambeta, which means the art of dribbling by making swift, quick feint movements with the legs around the ball while evading a defender. This expression of flair and talent was born on the neighborhood dirt pitches and transformed into the hallmark of Argentine football around the world. The campaign concept, titled “From the Dirt Pitch to the Stadium”, captures a journey that connects local neighborhood matches to global stadiums.
The specialized “Balón de Juego” stamp features the number 10, a tribute to the national legends who wore that number as they led the Argentine national team to its three stars.

The core visual pillars of the ball’s aesthetic rely on three deeply historical design elements.
The Tango graphics weave in the traditional panel lines of the classic Adidas Tango, from the historic 1978 World Cup that defined football style for generations.

The flowing silver laurel wreaths stretching across the panels serve as a tribute to Argentina’s heroic 1986 victory on Mexican soil.
Finally, the color palette is built on a clean white base featuring intricate royal blue floral patterns, finished with matching blue Adidas logos and the official AFA crest.
The official match ball features an elite, thermally bonded seamless construction designed for optimal aerodynamic flight, precision touch, and reduced water absorption under FIFA Quality Pro standards.
