Lionel Andres Messi, the greatest player of all time, has announced his retirement from international football in a heartfelt Instagram post.

Instead, he posted a photo of three notebook pages completely covered in his own handwriting, including corrections, crossed-out words, and ink smudges.
Football fans and Harry Potter fans were immediately drawn to a small detail on the pages: a metallic pen with a circular rotating design and a tiny hourglass resembling the “Time-Turner” from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

The element has its traditional circular structure and, in the center, the small hourglass. Additionally, on the golden metallic body appears the official Harry Potter logo stamped in black. It’s worth mentioning that Anto Roccuzzo defines herself as a fan of the saga.
The detail takes on a special dimension because of the context. The Giratiempo is, within the story, a magical object that allows going back in time. And Messi left it resting precisely on a letter in which he talks about the 20 years that have passed since his debut with the National Team.
A visual coincidence that’s hard to ignore: the man who has just announced the end of his cycle with the Argentine jersey writes about the passage of time using an object associated precisely with the possibility of turning it back.
The detail was especially meaningful for Messi, who has been nicknamed “El Mago” (The Wizard) by the fans for much of his career due to the seemingly impossible things he does on the field.
