Karim Adeyemi, the new addition to the Barcelona squad, delivered one of the most eye-catching performances of the night on Wednesday, September 16, against Real Santander.
Meanwhile, the internet has been discussing his partner, Swiss rapper Loredana Zefi’s story, on Instagram. The story features a shared photo of Karim celebrating his win against Real Racing Club, and the number “22” with a tongue-out emoji (22😛) as a note. Another story of hers where she reshared Karim’s post comparing himself to Lightning McQueen, the main character from Disney/Pixar’s “Cars”, with a “22” as a caption.

The 22 in her caption refers to the €22 million that Barça paid to sign him from Borussia Dortmund. Fans speculate that this is a diss, contrasting her husband’s €22 million signing to Barcelona with the €140 million signing of Yan Diomande to Real Madrid.

Before this reference, she once commented, “140 million”, under one of Adeyemi’s IG match posts after he scored a goal in Barcelona’s La Liga match against Levante (which ended in a 4-2 win for Barcelona).
Fans are referring to Loredana as the biggest anti-Madridista out there, as the 140 million comment was a supposed dig at Real Madrid, as Real Madrid signed €140 million for a young, pacey right winger from the Bundesliga, who was Yan Diomande, not Adeyemi.

Karim Adeyemi has produced stellar performances since he was signed for Barcelona, playing in all 6 matches in La Liga with 2 goals, 2 assists and 13 shots and scoring 1 goal in his only match in the Champions League. Meanwhile, the 19-year-old Real Madrid winger Yan Diomande has not been able to score a goal or provide an assist for Real Madrid, spending most of the time on the bench.

Fans’ reaction to her comment comprises Madrid supporters flooding her IG comment section with criticism and stressing the 2024 Champions League final against Real Madrid. When Karim was in Dortmund, he missed a one-on-one opportunity in a goalless match before his team eventually suffered a 2–0 defeat, with Real Madrid winning the Champions League.
“ Her husband gifted Madrid a UCL” was one of the comments that pointed out this incident.

There has been a flood of hate trains from Real Madrid fans and some other football supporters, where comments are calling her immature for bantering with a 19-year-old player while she herself is 31 and pointing out that she is expressing her frustration as Real Madrid did not sign her husband.

A particular portion of her interview on a prominent Albanian television channel, where she mentioned that Dortmund is good and best for Adeyemi, but “ Naturally, going to Real Madrid is his dream”, has resurfaced and is now a setup for the fans to counter her jab.

At the same time, Barça fans have come in defence of the rapper, with arguments flowing in that Madridistas are getting too worked up over a simple comment from a footballer’s wife because their players are not performing well, especially Yan Diomande.
There are also comments praising her for a savage reply and boldness in coming forward and supporting her husband.

Karim Adeyemi, after joining ahead of the 2026-27 season in Barcelona under Hansi Flick, has shown spectacular improvement in his performance in La Liga with seven shots, six successful dribbles, four chances created, five ball recoveries, two penalties won and an assist in his last game against Racing Santander, which resulted in a 7- 2 win for Barça.
Hansi Flick also expressed his admiration for Adeyemi after the match.
“ He’s very fast. I think Alphonso Davies is similar in terms of speed. Adeyemi is a good guy, he has a lot of respect in the dressing room, the team likes him, especially when he first arrived, and with performances like these, the adaptation is easier”.
Barcelona has their next La Liga match against Sevilla FC on 19th September, and their next Champions League match on 13th October against Galatasaray SK. However, there is still time for Yan Diomande to shine and claim his place in Real Madrid, considering his youth and past performances. Along with fans discussing on whether the focus should be on a comment from a Barça player’s wife or on the constant placement of Diomande in bench.
