The Surprising Reason Bayern Star Michael Olise Refuses Millions From Boot Sponsors

Michael Olise’s season for Bayern Munich has been nothing short of incredible, as 25/26 has seen him score 18 goals and deliver 27 assists across all seasons.

Olise’s assist numbers are nearly record-breaking as he is on the verge of breaking the record for most assists in a single season in the Bundesliga, Champions league and overall as well.

The winger has no doubt flourished since his 54 Million Euro move from Crystal Palace to Bayern in the summer of 2024.

The forward was once again all over the news after his recent performance against Real Madrid in the first leg of the UCL quarter finals. The winger delivered one assist in the 46th minute to Kane to make the score 2-0.

However, the more important factor noticed by fans watching the match was, of course, the incredible display of dribbling that was put on by the frenchman especially against left back Carreras.

The winger, despite being known for his dribbling and creative numbers, is also known for being very particular about his boot choices. Olise has always been seen matching the colour of his boots to the kit he is wearing in a match. Despite him doing this on a few occasions in his time at Palace, the practice has become much more consistent ever since his shift to Bayern.

With how seamlessly Olise pulls off the matching look, the question is to be asked as to which brand provides him with the boots to do this? Which brand is Olise’s sponsor for his boots?

The answer, as it turns out, is no one. It has been reported that Michael Olise, since the beginning of his career, has not had a boot deal, and the reason for that is that he just does not want one.

Olise has mostly been seen wearing Hypervenom 3’s in most cases when he pulls off the look, which has led to the speculation that he just does not prefer any other boot. Another thing to consider: Nike hasn’t released a new set of Hypervenom boots in nearly 5 years. Considering a brand deal may lead to him not wearing his preferred boots or Nike boots at all, it is understandable as to why he chooses not to have a boot deal.

Michael also doesn’t have a particular favouritism towards Nike, as he has also been seen wearing Adidas boots in his training sessions.

With Olise’s reputation as a world-class forward increasing week in week out and a market value that has skyrocketed to 140 Million Euros, any boot sponsors in the future will, without a doubt be extremely lucrative.

Considering Olise’s preference for a particular model, which is no longer produced, it only makes sense that he chooses to remain without a sponsor. His priorities towards maintaining a kit scheme while also being comfortable align perfectly with how he prefers his football to do his talking. Nonchalant and humble footballers are rare to come by, especially with an Aesthetic like Michael’s. Sometimes it’s incredible just to see them ball out.
