In addition to becoming well-known as a fashion icon, Balogun established himself as a mainstream household name in the US by taking the stage as a celebrity award presenter alongside generational icon, Eileen Gu.

Balogun’s impact was evident on Thursday, July 16, at the star-studded TIME100 Sports Gala at Pier 60, Chelsea Piers in New York City, just one day after his ESPYs appearance. A highly publicized meeting between Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, and Folarin Balogun took place during the event, which honors the world’s most influential athletes. The two posed for pictures and talked about the tournament’s cultural impact on a global scale.

Balogun carried this momentum into Fanatics Fest at the Javits Center the following morning, where he attended the historic FIFA World Cup 2026 Final Press Conference as a special guest.

A significant business milestone a few days prior greatly accelerated this star-studded appearance. Before the summer ended, LeBron James himself was seen wildly applauding from the stands during Balogun’s tournament games, demonstrating that he had fully transitioned into the top tier of American entertainment and international sports marketing.

Balogun appeared on stage as a featured guest for a live taping of “The Shop,” the popular talk show executive produced by LeBron James and Maverick Carter in the style of a barbershop, right after the press conference. Balogun talked about his quick ascent to fame, his taste in fashion, and the challenges of representing soccer in America.

“America is an amazing country…the ambition, the energy, and having the World Cup here is something I wanted to be part of, and very proud to be part of it,” Folarin Balogun on playing for USA in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Additionally, on July 14, Balogun spoke out about the tournament’s most closely watched story in an exclusive live studio interview with CBS Mornings. Speaking openly with the anchors, Balogun claimed that the play was an accidental entanglement rather than a malicious tackle and acknowledged that he was definitely in shocked when the first red card was brandished. He acknowledged the complicated reality of the situation, saying he knew that it was going to cause a lot of controversy and invite significant outside noise, but he also expressed his sincere gratitude for the political intervention that allowed him to rejoin his teammates on the field.

“I could almost see within my teammates a bit of nerves because it was something that’s so unique. But the closer we got to the game, I tried to just focus as best as I could,” Folarin Balogun told CBS Mornings of FIFA’s decision to lift his red card suspension.

In addition to this fast-paced media tour, Balogun took part in a number of high-profile promotional events, such as EA Sports’ One House event, where he celebrated gaming culture, digital media, and the nexus of lifestyle and sports with a small group of elite athletes and creators.

The interview marked the end of a momentous month in which Balogun transformed from a clinical European league striker into a major international news story, bridging the gap between elite American entertainment and international sports diplomacy.

Major brand campaigns, such as a high-profile multi-media partnership with Dick’s Sporting Goods and Nike, where Balogun starred in a commercial rollout, quick Q&A sessions, and national marketing campaigns promoting the official USMNT tournament kits, coincided with this cultural takeover.
