Cristiano Ronaldo throws his weight behind FIFA-rival UFL

Cristiano Ronaldo throws his weight behind FIFA-rival UFL

Every football fan enjoys playing FIFA with their friends and EA Sport’s game has been one of the most popular games on the planet in the past two decades. However FIFA’s quality and gameplay have been declining lately and with the advent of coronavirus, fans were forced to try out different games like eFootball and the online section of FIFA but they have been rather underwhelming and some would even call the games disappointing. But the indie game studio ‘Strikerz’ seems like it has a solution for that.

A few days back, ‘Strikerz’ released a trailer for their new free-to-play online football game called UFL. The game also has an offline mode that supports 2v2 and 3v3 gameplay but the game will primarily be built around a flagship mode, UFL’s global online football league.

The game has also signed up Cristiano Ronaldo as its cover star and one of the game’s ambassadors which is very beneficial for the game as Ronaldo is one of the most popular players on the planet and his involvement might help skyrocket sales for the game. In addition to Cristiano Ronaldo, the game has also signed players like Kevin de Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku, Roberto Firmino, and Oleksandr Zinchenko as ambassadors.

Clubs like West Ham United, Sporting CP, Shakhtar Donetsk, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Bayer Leverkusen, Beşiktaş, Monaco, Celtic, Rangers and Hashtag FC have become partner clubs. Strikerz said that there are more clubs to be announced in the near future.

But we should not kid ourselves, the Strikerz team has made sure they want to provide an amazing new gaming experience in the realm of football games and they chose the right man who can help propel the success of this game.

Thousands of people seem to be excited about the release of UFL. The game runs on Unreal Engine and it will be available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4 and PS5.

Cristiano himself seems to be excited that he would be associated with the indie game studio and he also shares his excitement for the game that would be released later in 2022.

Strikerz also announced that the game is in the “final stage of development” during the reveal a few days back. Hopefully, the game is set for release as soon as possible as I’m sure that Ronaldo fans cannot wait to get their hands on their copy of UFL.
