Sergio Aguero was perhaps the biggest loser from Manchester City’s 3-2 defeat to Real Madrid in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League playoffs. Despite taking a 2-1 lead, the Cityzens conceded two late goals to head to the Santiago Bernabeu with the worst possible result.
Aguero, however, was left utterly red-faced after the loss. That is because he was extra arrogant with his predictions for the match.
The Argentine was extremely confident of his former side’s capability of defeating Real Madrid. He even wagered a £8,039 bet that Manchester City would score two goals in the first half and lost that entire money.
In fact, the 38-year-old was so sure about Pep Guardiola side’s abilities that he made a bold promise and claimed on the Som I Serem FCB podcast: “Real Madrid can not beat Man City. If they beat City, I will cut off my testicles.”
Fast-forward a day later and Aguero has been caught in an awkward position. He’s earned a lot of mockery from fans calling him to go ahead with the deed after being so boastful about it.
Some have even started to compare his situation with that of the character of ‘Theon Greyjoy’ from the popular TV show ‘Game of Thrones’.

This particular comparison is because of the brutal fate met by Greyjoy in the series. Theon is seemingly castrated in season three, leaving him without his private parts.
Some have even compared him to the character of Grey Worm from the series, who had his private parts cut as well.

Of course, Aguero has NOT cut off his testicles after losing the bet. But his foolish boastfulness is probably a warning to any pundit to never allow arrogance to dictate their predictions about any football event.
