3 Ways Arda Guler Goaded Michael Olise But To No Effect

Arda Guler, Bayern Munich, Champions League, Michael Olise, Real Madrid

It’s all to play for Real Madrid after their shock 2-1 loss at home against Bayern Munich in the first leg of UCL quarter finals this week.

Luis Diaz and Harry Kane silenced the brand spanking new Santiago Bernabeu before Mbappe breathed some life with a second half goal.

While Diaz and Kane got the plaudits and Neuer was immense in goal, it was Michael Olise who was undoubtedly the best performer on the night.

The former Crystal Palace man made it extremely uneasy for any Madrid player who came up against him in the right flank or when he switched to left.

Perhaps the most frustrated of the lot among Los Blancos was Arda Guler.

The young Turk, who was substituted off in the 71st minute, was the only bright spark for Alvaro Arbeloa’s side.

But even then, when faced against Olise, Guler was made to look like a fool more than once.

The duo came together multiple times, with Guler growing more and more furious while Olise remaining his nonchalant, nonresponsive best.

Footage from the game shows Guler shoving Olise in the back as the players made their way to the pitch in the second half.

Things took a nasty turn when Guler clattered Olise to the ground with a hard knock on the legs and then attempted to get the Bayern winger up on his feet as if to pretend it was a regular tackle.

We wonder what Olise said to invoke this reaction or maybe Guler was trying to provoke Bayern winger into getting a yellow card.

What fans found most funny was the moment Guler was spotted cursing in his native Turkish, having no effect on Olise who speaks French and English.

Safe to say we can’t wait to watch Guler and Olise renew this unexpected rivalry at Allianz Arena on 15 April.
