Jack Grealish joined Everton on loan back in August 2025 in an effort to boost his career after being snubbed by Pep Guardiola at Man City.
While his start at Merseyside was nothing short of sensational, with 4 assists against Brighton and Wolves, Grealish’s journey came to a screeching halt in January after a stress fracture he suffered in his left foot.
The injury ended any hopes the 30-year-old had of joining Thomas Tuchel’s England side at the 2026 World Cup.
Since then, Grealish hardly made any headlines but that changed recently as photos of him being blackout drunk in broad daylight at a Manchester rooftop bar surfaced online.
A drunk escapade is nothing new for the Birmingham born winger who has been caught intoxicated numerous times before.
But the PR drive to untarnish his image was instant this time around with the BBC putting out the news of Jack Grealish extending his role as a Special Olympics ambassador.
While Jack Grealish is a strong advocate for the disabled community, driven by his personal experience with his sister, Hollie, who has cerebral palsy, the timing of this news didn’t sit right with many –

The Telegraph even pushed out a column in support of Grealish and advocating guidance instead of rebuke for the former Aston Villa man.
This again caught the ire of many as the Telegraph weren’t this supportive during Marcus Rashford‘s infamous Belfast tequila bender back in 2024 –
One, his drunken actions is merely a "stupidity" & the other is a "downfall".

Fans called out the effort from media in general as they have always gone in with hit-pieces whenever black players like Rashford have been caught in a drunk state –
Not a single one of these reporters has posted anything about grealish btw pic.twitter.com/PcdikcLti5

While there’s a clear divide between media and the fans on how to report the misdemeanours of white and black players, Grealish himself has now made the effort to soften his image.
The Everton winger took to Instagram to show the work his putting in order to get fit as soon as possible and captioned it – “April… Let me live hallelujah. Cannot wait to be back playing football“.
We are hoping that all the headlines Grealish makes now are due to his footballing exploits and not the Paul Gascoigne arc he sometimes pushes along.
