For the past couple of years, there’s been one recurring transfer rumour that seemingly never fades away. And as we inch closer to the summer window, Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid seems inevitable.
The Paris Saint-Germain superstar is known to be a massive Los Blancos fan, with club legend Cristiano Ronaldo being his idol. He also happens to be a world-class talent with a limitless ceiling, so naturally, Real Madrid are interested.
Their interest manifested in their attempts to sign the Frenchman last summer, as they reportedly tabled a bid of €130m, despite Mbappe’s contract running out this year.
Nevertheless, PSG declined, and they have since been hard at work convincing their prized possession to renew. And so the rumours continue to circulate, the 23-year-old’s future destination remains a trending topic. Recent reports have suggested that the deal is in place, but in football, you never know.
However, one man who perhaps would know is Real Madrid Legend Roberto Carlos. And when a fan brought up the question, the former fullback delivered his verdict.

It all came to light in this clip, captured during Real Madrid’s 3-1 over Osasuna at the Santiago Bernabeu. The former Selecao Star can be seen interacting with supporters, while one fan tries to get his attention.
After he manages to do so, he asks Carlos,”is Mbappe coming?”. With an affirmative nod and a confident tone, Roberto replies “Yes he is”.
While this is no confirmation, the World Cup winner’s confidence is a strong hint.
Nevertheless, the drawn-out saga will come to an end this summer, and fans will finally have the answer.
