Fans Fall For Michael Olise Wiping His Instagram Clean Again

Enjoying a standout 2025/26 season for both club and country, Michael Olise has never been far away from the headlines.

Scoring 20 goals and providing 25 assists in all competitions, the Frenchman helped Bayern Munich secure a domestic double, winning the Bundesliga Player of the Season award and firmly cementing himself as one of the best in the business in the process.

Now, he is playing a starring role for France at the FIFA World Cup, a key part of arguably the most lethal attack in the tournament alongside Kylian Mbappe, Ousmane Dembele and Desire Doue. Many fans and experts alike fancy Les Bleus to go all the way, and Olise is expected to be extremely influential.

It did not take long for him to show his quality at world football’s most prestigious event, providing a sublime assist for Mbappe to break the deadlock against Senegal in France’s opening fixture. Didier Deschamps’ men went on to win the game 3-1, and Olise won the Player of the Match award.

While plenty can be discussed about his incredible performances, his actions off the field have recently caught the attention of fans. Eagle-eyed supporters who keep up with Olise’s social media activity noticed that the winger has wiped his Instagram feed clean.

With plenty of rumors linking him to a spectacular big-money move to Real Madrid this summer, many fans thought this could be Olise’s way of offering subtle hints about his future.

Contrary to popular belief, however, this is something the winger does quite regularly, ‘resetting’ his social media feed once a season ends. He also did so in 2023, shortly after signing a contract extension with Premier League club Crystal Palace.

The fact that he only follows 23 accounts has also led to plenty of speculation, with supporters wondering if he recently unfollowed any teammates. But this is also something that is consistent with his past social media habits.

Olise followed the same exact number of users back in November, which includes FC Bayern’s official Instagram account and fellow attacking midfielder Jamal Musiala, who is also in action at the World Cup with Germany.

Nevertheless, it didn’t take long for this to become a hot topic on social media.

One fan posted to X, stating he was “convinced Michael Olise hates everything that comes with being a recognised footballer”, citing his unorthodox social media practices and otherwise low-key demeanour off the field.

On the other hand, another fan was still optimistic about the club’s chances of securing the winger’s services, asking whether Bayern would potentially sell if “Florentino Perez offers 220 million”.

In the days since, Olise has in fact posted again, sharing a series of snaps from the France v Senegal game. In trademark fashion, the post has a rather cryptic feel to it, and there is no caption. As of writing, it has accumulated over 2.4 million likes and over 51,000 comments, with transfer speculation being quite a common theme in the comments section.

For now, the rumour mill will continue to churn as world football’s elite focus on the World Cup.

Though Bayern Munich have already stated they will not be considering any offers for Michael Olise, it is often a different ballgame when Real Madrid comes calling, and it is yet to be seen if Los Blancos manage to pull off what will undoubtedly be the signing of the summer.
