Michael Olise has never been football’s loudest personality, but his rise has become impossible to ignore.
Olise was born in England, but his mother was half French and half Algerian, which allowed him to represent France in international football.
The 24-year-old French international has built his reputation on elegance, end product, and a calmness that makes difficult actions look routine.
His move to Bayern has taken him from Premier League talent to one of Europe’s most decisive attackers.
In Germany, Olise has become a central figure in Bayern’s attack, combining goalscoring threat with elite creativity from wide areas.
has racked up 22 goals and 30 assists in 50 matches this season, numbers that underline why his name is now being discussed alongside France’s biggest stars.
Olise won the Bundesliga and the Super Cup with Bayern Munich this season.
These achievements earned him his place at the 2026 UNFP Trophies ceremony held in Paris last night.
Although the awards are best known for celebrating Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 performers, they also include a category for the best French player playing abroad.
This year, that prize went to Olise, with the UNFP’s official winners list naming Michael Olise of FC Bayern Munich as the ‘Best French Player Abroad’.
Olise beat the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Rayan Cherki, William Saliba, and Hugo Ekitike to win the award, just proving how good he has been this season, starring in Germany and Europe alike.
Olise has not just been popular due to his heroics on the pitch. He has often made headlines about the mysterious and nonchalant character he has created around himself.
While this often gets him into positive conversations, it also gets him criticism from fans.
The most recent occurrence was when Olise showed up to the Champions League semi-finals in a ‘hood-up’ look, but failed to deliver on the pitch.
But it seems that this persona around him is cast due to Olise just being a rather reserved personality.
The same mysterious persona follows Olise into all parts of life, even off the pitch, often creating a diversion from his on-field performances.
Similarly, when Olise was pictured with a blonde woman at the award ceremony, it distracted us from his achievement and gave rise to a burning question.

At first, we assumed that it was his significant other, who, like everything else in Olise’s life, had been kept a mystery.
The official Ligue 1 account also posted a picture of her and Olise’s parents, with the caption “Michael Olise’s family proud of him”.
This further reinforced the assumption.
However, we can now revealed that the ‘mystery woman’ is Rebecca James, reportedly Olise’s PR manager.
Rebecca’s firm liked a comment on Instagram that mentioned that she is Olise’s PR manager, confirming this news.
Rebecca James is the founder and director of ‘Limitless Sports Consultancy’. Before founding Limitless, she worked at Arsenal as the communications manager for both the men’s and women’s teams.
She was also recognised in ‘Next Gen 30 under 30 2022’ and ‘VERSUS 50’.
Limitless now works with multiple elite athletes, namely Olise, Saka, Odegaard, and McCabe.
Rebecca’s work is at the intersection of football, media and personal branding. As modern athletes become global public figures, agencies like Limitless help manage how they are presented, protected and positioned beyond the pitch.
So while social media was wondering and making assumptions about the woman beside Olise, the answer appears far more professional than romantic.
He was at the UNFP awards to celebrate one of the biggest individual honours of his career, and the woman accompanying him was Rebecca James, his respected sports PR and brand specialist.
