Manchester United’s poor form continued on Saturday in the Premier League game against Southampton as the hosts let a 1-0 lead slip for the third game in a row and had to settle for a draw at Old Trafford.
Once again, the team’s inability to finish off chances was on display for all to see.
Naturally, any team enduring a goal drought would attempt things the old-fashioned way by utilizing set-piece opportunities.
However, United are not finding any luck there as well. The Red Devils have now been awarded 157 corners since the last time they scored from one.
While the team have had better fortunes with long free kicks in comparison, one of the highlights from Saturday’s game came from one such set-piece which has left fans dumbfounded.
Not sure it’s even possible for a team to be more offside than this pic.twitter.com/Zcr18NJM88

In the 73rd minute, United found the back of the net through Ronaldo after Sancho flicked on a Fernandes free-kick.
But to the disappointment of the Old Trafford faithful, it was not just Ronaldo who was offside but the entire set of players who were up for the set-piece.
Sancho, Rashford, Ronaldo, Maguire, Varane and Pogba were all clearly offside and the goal was disallowed.
Usually, these images surface when the team defending the set-piece deploys an offside trap.
how bad do you have to be at set pieces for your whole team to be offside😭 pic.twitter.com/TNdcamqLpl

But that was not the case here as most Saints players moved towards the United players attacking the freekick and not away from them.
No, this was quite clearly a self-inflicted blunder.
For United fans, this might be an annoying memory from the season but Twitter has certainly taken a strong liking to it and there is no stopping it now.
